San Francisco Best of Broadway subscribers received an email today along the lines of...
The 5th show in the SHN-SF 2007-08 season will be SPRING AWAKENING
The where, when, how, who and by what means has yet to be announced.
But it's coming! The casting-calls head in LA, NYC and Chicago last month were probably largely for this (and Bway replacements).
EXCITING NEWS!

Someone who coordinates the San Fran best of Broadway must be a producer of Spring Awakening.
Lucky Dallas will most likely have fist dibs on Legally Blonde!

Posted: 6/13/07 at 8:57pmGive it maybe another year and Legally Blonde will announce their tour. It'll be an 08-09 tour. And I wouldn't be surprised if turned out to be non-union Updated On: 6/13/07 at 08:57 PM

Whoooooo!!!
I can't wait for this show. I hope they announce all the details but as of right now, to know SF has it is great. I wonder if it's going to launch in SF?
And I'm with you BDavis0092, I hope SF get's Grey Gardens and that Company decides to tour.

"Give it maybe another year and Legally Blonde will announce their tour. It'll be an 08-09 tour. And I wouldn't be surprised if turned out to be non-union "
I was actually being a bit sarcastic about Legally Blonde - it seems like the Dallas producers never seem to invest in my favorite shows.
I'd love to see a Company and Sweeney tour. I'm unsure about the concept, I'd still like to see it.

Posted: 6/13/07 at 9:30pmI thought it was planning a fall 08 tour...?
re: Spring Awakening National Tour#15
Posted: 6/13/07 at 9:32pmIt's the 07-08 season.
re: Spring Awakening National Tour#16
Posted: 6/13/07 at 9:35pmYeah, but fall 08 would make it the 08-09 season.
re: Spring Awakening National Tour#17
Posted: 6/13/07 at 9:37pmLegally Blonde is rumored to do an 08-09 tour. Which I think it could do extremely well.

I don't know about the local theatre around the San Fran area, but I know in my area the venues that fool with the dates that make a season to make a season. Add a summer/fall show with your spring subscription. In fact, the company that brought Wicked in actually sold the show with three different types of subscriptions - I believe it was two different summer subscriptions and a winter subscription.

re: Spring Awakening National Tour#24
Posted: 6/14/07 at 2:13amIt should come to Boston! One of the best college towns, so it definitely should go here as it would generate good business! NOT for the Opera House, though. It needs to be in a smaller theater, like the Colonial.
