Hopefully I'm going to see Spring Awakening again in August, and I want to get autographs at the stage door. Last time I went was a monsoon so I couldn't stand outside, but I was wondering if the cast usually comes out after the 2 o'clock performance.
I also want to sit on-stage and was wondering what seats that Gideon sits next to (I know there is another post about this but I figured I'd just confirm.)
Anyone have any good on-stage seating stories?

I *think* Gideon sits on the odd side, maybe around CC9-11. Not sure though..
Hmmm stories...well, Skylar stomped on my leg one night. He stomped on the empty chair next to me during "Totally F*CKed" and I guess my thigh was over there a little, and he hit it off-center and caught my leg. It didn't hurt. Afterwards I caught him outside the stage door and acted mad and said "You stomped on my leg!" He was like Oh I am so sorry, and I just said I was kidding, and we chatted a little.
I was in BB12, and I'm pretty sure Gideon sat next to me at least once. ^_^

I sat in front of Jon Groff's high school drama teacher.
thanks for the information Weez
gymndudeva-if you study the seats and find anything out that would be awesome!

Believe it or not Actual, that comment wasn't even aimed at you.
But since you've brought it up, why do you care if you sit next to him? Sitting on stage is a great experience, but attempting to buy tickets next to a specific actor is kind of creepy.
He's not going to start up a convo with you on stage. He won't even look at you. So, what does it matter?
It's kind of really creepy actually.
Sounds like someone is getting a little defensive. It's part of the whole onstage experience. The Spring Awakening Myspace even has a chart that labels seats as "cast," "ensemble," and "audience."
And, come on, if you had a chance to sit next to one of your favorite actors, would you? How is that creepy? Unless your intending to harass someone, just buying tickets next to a specific actor isn't creepy.
It's those crazy Wicked fans who go to the Gershwin stage door dressed as Elphaba or Glinda that's creepy.
thanks millie_dillmount
Honestly, if you have the chance to sit next to an actor whose work you enjoy and who you look up to and respect, why wouldn't you try and see if it were possible to sit near them?
it's actually NOT really creepy, and I'm not planning on striking up a conversation or expecting him to look at me and start talking. I'm not stupid.
also,

touche!
No one answered ActualReal's earlier question and I was wondering the same thing, does the cast usually come out after the matinée performance?

Don't have an answer to the question, just a fun story.
Since I went by myeslf, I sat in a single audience seat and had cast members on either side of me--usually between the understudy for adult female (who was excellent, even if I forgot her name) and Lilli Cooper. I have the priviledge of hearing Lilli's goregous, goregous voice and harmony lines in my ear all evening.
After "Totally F*CKed," I whispered to her: "That rocked!" She replied: "Thank you!"
Yea, I geeked out

I wanna sit on stage. I think it would be such a cool experience to see it done onstage. I'm actually going to ask my mom if she would be interested to get onstage seats this summer for it. I ask my sister and she said that would be cool but she would probably have to hold back tapping people.

Lol, he did the same thing to me.
ActualReality2: I would love to sit next to Gideon also, I always sit one row in front of his though...
but sometimes I look up and he smiles at me

Yes, usually the cast does come out after matinees. When I was there for a matinee, only a select few didn't come out (the adults and a few of the ensemble).
Thanks DevDev, I'd be so upset if they didn't come out afterwards haha
I'm so excited to sit on stage now after these stories! Soon, I will hopefully have a story to add to the thread
wow im suprised lilli responded. when i saw the show she walked by everyone after. a little divaish.

Really? Lilli was the MOST friendly cast member when I stage door-ed. Perhaps she had somewhere to be or wasn't feeling well the day that you saw her.
Lilli is a teenager, I doubt she would be "diva-ish".

wiiked: Skylar stomped on you too? wow. Of all the cast, he is the one who most looks like he is going to fly into the onstage seats at any second...I have heard many reports of terror amongst the onstage audience as he jumps backwards off of that chair...
worrel (and all): keep in mind that the onstge seats are now selling out a couple of months in advance (and it could get worse after the tonys), so plan ahead!

When he jumped backwards off the chair, I thought he was about to stumble right into me, I actually flinched. Must have been funny to see haha.

I'm surprised by the "diva-ish" comment, too. Lilli was so sweet. I was really impressed, actually, by her composure and how great she was at the stage door. I can't help but think how weird this life must be that part of your routine is taking pictures with strangers when you try to leave work. As this musical shows, it's not easy being a teenager. I can't imagine being a teenager in this business.
I thought she was very warm and comfortable at the stage door. I was really surprised when I came home and found out she was only... 16, I think.
I have been meaning to post this story for a while.
Back in January my friend was nice enough to wait in the cold and get rush tickets. I was so pumped to be sitting in the front row. While waiting for the show to begin we chatted with the usher. 8:00 comes around and the show is sold out accept for 7ish on-stage seats. jokingly we asked the usher if we could have them, five minutes later we did! but thats not the end. As we rushed to put our stuff in the lockers and got on-stage the group of 7ish girls walked in. we were so sad but it was ok because we were still front row. but thats not the end again, ha. so now its 8:05 and the show hasnt started. As we sat back down in our seats four people sitting next to Gerard were asked to leave the theatre. We had no idea why but we were excited to get thier seats. There was four of us and we got thier seats! amazing!
The next time I saw the show, after the stage door I noticed the very nice Kimberly Grigsby there and I asked if she rembered that night, because she had talked to us a little after the intermission. She did remeber and she said the man sitting in front of Gerard was a little high tempered. Before the show had started Gerard had coughed the man in front of was not very happy about it. The man swore at Gerard and Gerard left and told the stage manager he didnt feel comfortable sitting with that group of people. Ms. Grigsby said that was the most outragous thing to happen onstage so far.
