Stage dooring on a first date?

Me and this girl are really crazy about theater so i'm thinking about takin her to the touring version of spelling bee, but also if i really like the performance I can't go without stagedooring, so I'm wondering if its tacky to go stage dooring on a first date and what u're experiences were

I'd stay away from the stage door on the first date--if you want pics or autgraphs, just go after a different perofrmance--nobody will be the wiser. Unless it's a one-nighter. Unless SHE brings it up--then you can do it.

No, it is inappropriate. Just take her home and f her.

You "can't go without stagedooring?" Sure, it's a fun experience but if you have to do it, you might have a different problem.

Don't stage door on the first date.

It says "I like you, but waiting for an autograph is more important than spending quality time with you".

Tacky. Don't do it.
....but the world goes 'round

re: Stage dooring on a first date?

Nothing says "I really like you" like making her stand outside a stage door for 40 minutes and wait while you get autographs. NO WAY.

Only do it if she asks too.

Unless your chick has a stick, I say just catch the show then get a drink after, unless you really really really want to meet Andrew Keenan-Bolger *wink*

so i guess there's a 0% chance she'll actually enjoy meeting the performers

Straight guys stage door for triple threat babes on whom they have serious crushes.

re: Stage dooring on a first date?

I agree with most of the posters. I am an avid theater goer, but do not do stagedoor. It's not for me. (and I would NOT enjoy it on a date by ANY stretch of the imagination. I'd want my date paying attention to me.)

Nothing wrong with asking her, but I wouldn't say that YOU want to, just ask her what she thinks of SDing in general. If she's excited about it, ask if she'd like to, if she's indifferent or negative don't go any further.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Not that there is a 0% chance she wouldn't like it, but it's just not something you do on a first date. Unless like others have mentioned, she brings it up without being provoked. And I am sure you'll be okay without stagedooring one time.

You're not REALLY meeting them, you're congratulating them on a (hopefully) job well done, unless you're going to have dinner and drinks with them afterward, which would somewhat defeat the purpose of the date.

I'm the kind of girl who waits till the third date....

no stagedooring on the first date, or else I just feel like I'm giving it all away.

Is this something you normally do? If so, do it! That way, you are being yourself.

Isn't honesty the key to any relationship..especially at the beginning?

re: Stage dooring on a first date?

No, no, and no.

(Unless -- as said before -- it comes up in conversation that you BOTH want to do it.)

PS- I'm ashamed to say that I thought EXACTLY the same thing as Rathnait. re: Stage dooring on a first date?

Jon nailed my reasoning exactly.

Too bad it's no longer a time when we could just go and pick 'em up.
