Ugh, I have to wait for my hard copy. But the clips sound wonderful! I am intrigued by "The Human Heart" and can't wait to hear all of "Never-Neverland." When I hear "Making Good" I can't help but think of how it could have been her voice on the OBCR of Wicked. *sigh*
On an unrelated note, I would love to hear SJB sing the national anthem. I bet she would knock it out the park! (Yes I meant to say that...I couldn't help it...)
Stephanie's new CD is BRILLIANT. There is such a variety of wonderful songs. I can't wait to get my hard copy. I have the iTunes, but need something to play while driving!!
Just love that woman!!!! I hope her CD goes Platinum!!!!!
Just bought tickets for Steph's birdland concert. Does anyone know how these concerts are set up seating wise? Should you get there early to have a seat or table. I purchased the premium seats so I am assuming that I will have a table. If anyone could give any advice that would be great. Thanks :)
shh282 thanks for showing me to the seating chart. On my ticket there is no seat number or anything does that mean it is first come first serve as far as seating goes?
I will be featuring selections from this CD (as well as the new disc by Malcom Gets, and 5 numbers from the new OCR of STORY OF MY LIFE) on my radio program this Sunday.
People in Toronto can hear it on the radio, people outside Toronto can hear it through the website.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks." Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
Just bumping this up to see if anyone is going to her performance and album signing at Barnes and Noble tomorrow. Some youtubing or reports would be appreciated. =)
There's also been some good interviews with her posted online recently, such as on HuffingtonPost, if anyone's interested.
I just checked Birdland's website and it says "no tickets available online." That may mean it is already sold out, but I would call them to double check.
I'm glad I got my tickets early for this one...
Edit: If you really want to go, you could always get there early and sit at the bar... Updated On: 7/1/09 at 02:33 PM
I'll also be at the Birdland concert with wife - have been there a few times already to see her. Looking forward to it, and yes, the album is excellent!
I believe they set up your seat when you make the reservation, doesn't seem to matter when you get there....
No, you just choose your section when you make your reservations; actual seating is first come, first served. The woman with whom I spoke when I made our reservations mentioned this.
Signing was wonderful! She sang "Invention", "Gotta Start Small", "One Day", "Something Beautiful" and "Never Neverland". She didn't have a sound check and had some serious mic issues so during a few of the songs she sang it without a mic. Paul Loesel, Stephen Flaherty and Andrew Lippa were all there too.
