One of the things I loved about Betty Buckley as Norma was her hand movements (michael crawford had the same type of movement in phantom that no-one else captures) Stefhanie seems to have hat when she sings also and it really makes me feel they are so connected to the part. I have to dissagree about the community theater aspect. Oguinquit is not community theater it is a wonderful summer Regional theater that many stars want to come because of the reception and the spectacular town itself. Check out the website and you will see all the stars that have been there
I think the show looks really good and I wish I was closer because she is singing the hell out of the 2 main songs.
The problem with the tours of this was that it was too expensive to tour and when they scaled it down they did not have a person who could grab you , I think Petula Clark is a pop singer a great one and in certain things she is great (blood brothers she was wonderful) but her voice has no fear in it or deep timber that made Nora scary...I like what I hear from Stefanie

I work in Ogunquit but I haven't been able to get over to the playhouse yet. I'd love to see the show sometime before it leaves.

I've also worked at the playhouse for two seasons and I have my qualms about it, but I won't get into that here. It's a nice sized house, and it does the best it can with the time and space permitted.

Early in this thread, I compared Powers to Buckley and that was one of the reasons. I loved Buckley (who is apparently as nutty as Norma).

Not sure if you're saying Buckley's Norma was nutty (it was) or she herself is.... but there's nothing "nutty like Norma" about Betty. She's colorful, fun, individual and loves every minute of life.... but she's no nut. :)

I only wish I lived closer - would love to see Stefanie. It looks like she's terrific.

Wow, that clips looks amazing. The ensemble is terrific, 1st rate. The costumes are terrific, the guy playing Joe is very handsome and his acting is great without overracting like many other Joes did. Betty is flawless. Stefanie seems a revelation too. Outstanding!!! How do I get to ME!!!!???
