Stephanie Powers Intimate Portrait (narrated by Angie Dickinson)
Thanks for the link MrMidwest.
Thanks...one of the reasons I stopped posting on here years ago was the unnecessarily nasty messages about others; they are mean and serve no point but to aggrandize the shrunken egos of the posters.
In newintown's case, something else must be shrunken.
I always loved you, Joey...
Honestly, you two, get a room.
If you love the women (and men) who fall victim to the youth myth, who hack themselves to shreds, cover themselves in cosmetics and chemicals, potentially compromise their health with starvation diets, all in the pursuit of coating themselves with an illusion of "youth," that's fine.
But consider how much more beautiful Ms. Powers could be if she had really allowed herself to age gracefully. Lee Meriwether stopped dying her hair a few years ago, and she has never had cosmetic surgery - she looks terrific. Brit actresses like Maggie Smith, Vanessa Redgrave, and Judi Dench have always allowed their true beauty to show. Meryl Streep is getting old in a natural way and looks gorgeous.
I admit that I pity the men and women in the business who are terrified of growing old. And I excoriate their fans who encourage that fear - those fans who think beautiful is looking like a papier maché puppet of the Cryptkeeper.
For further proof that Newintown is correct, see Faye Dunaway.
Why is there no mention of this production on the Really Useful Group's official website ?

Hey Oguinquit Playhouse always put video on the website

I didnt mean to diss Rex Smith ..but this is just more interesting than the 100 millionth time Sound of Music can be seen on youtube..
The production was fine, but is there really a reason to do The Sound of Music yet again, especially since there is a wonderful film available? I suppose it sells, but there are SO many great mucicals that that are rarely done.

I am still dying to see a production of Mack and Mabel.
I love the Sound of Music..but the movie is perfect and it is on a lot so I dont get why they do it so much
I could not agree more...
110 in the Shade would be perfect for Ogunquit
I guess it's all a matter of what will sell.
BTW...The Playhouse used to do plays as well, but no more.

a little clip i found
from video creations.com
And they just posted this on Facebook:

I'm sorry - the clip makes this look like a community theatre production of THE DROWSY CHAPERONE...
And this is definitely one score that isn't helped by a tiny orchestra.

Um... okay... so after watching that, what the hell was all the fuss about- or is this a case of "hey- it's a tiny theater in a small town and this is good for them"
This is like a flashforward of when community theatre's will be able to do this show, and the "old standby" woman who plays every major role written for a woman, and sometimes men, gets the role.
All I can think of right now is the episode of Will and Grace where Debbie Reynolds as Grace's mother, talks about how she just finished playing The Music "Person" back home!
Agree: The clip is awful...sound in the theater is far superior. If they can't do better than this, why post it at all?
Well they pulled a positive quote from Broadway World on the closing frame of that YouTube video.
Well, she sounds better than Glenn Close.
