I saw POTO and the alternate Julie Hanson (or whatever) was out, so Sandra was in.
I thought she was fine.
I later heard her and I realized how crazy her vibrato is. It's like Julia Murney's vibrato possessed.

and Julie Hanson wasn't renewed...we can leave it at that.

Anne Runolfsson is absolutely incredible. Unfortunately, I saw her only once. The two other times, I saw Janet Saia (a swing, who I thought was too quiet and didn't have enough stage presence) and Kris Koop, who was serviceable. Kris Koop wasn't doing very well on the higher notes, and during "Poor Fool, He Makes Me Laugh" is where I noticed it. You know the part where Carlotta sings, "Poor fool, he makes me laugh, ha-ha-ha-ha-ha..." and then she does the ascending "ha's" and then descending "ha's"? (Pardon me for not using any correct terminology.) Well, Kris definitely didn't sing the highest "ha" at all. Perhaps her voice just gave out or she purposely skipped it altogether, but her mouth opened and nothing came out. It was disappointing.

there is nothing worse than a disappointing "ha".

Isn't that like QUEEN OF THE NIGHT? The ha's?

I know it might sound silly, but it was just a bit of a let-down to know that she couldn't sing the song.

I saw Rebecca Pitcher on tour in Boston... and found her to be awful. Her massive vibrato caused her to be all over the place pitch-wise, and her acting was similarly off. If it weren't for Gary Mauer as the Phantom, I might well have left at intermission.
...and to tell you how wonderful Gary was, I actually saw the show again just to see him.
JHW has had a break. She had a role opposite Brooke Shields!!! plus she got to understude the role of Belle in B&B. Anyhow i do wish she were on Broadway right now.
See, I found Joseph to be excruciatingly awful as Christine. I couldn't stand her. Convrsely, I loved Rebecca Pitcher in the role, who I thought was fantastic.
Different strokes...
I think Sandra Joesph has a wonderful hold on Christine acting wise, but I can only equate her vibratto to vocal Parkinsons. It's all over the place.
Rebecca Pitcher? She's the Christine version of Carlotta. Not bad, just past her prime in the role. She seemed so bored when I saw her on tour last summer, especially when compare to Gary, and MSL (who only got to be the principal for like a month...stupid TMG).
I want Rachell Barrell (the westend Christine) to jump the pond, cuz she is Christine love.
Susan Owen, not Bowen.
Why wasn't Julie's contract renewed...she got great reviews and she was my favorite Christine

Having seen Sandra Joseph in the role a couple of times I can't say I'm sad to see her go. She is by far the worst Christine I've ever seen. And I have seen the show sooo many times on both sides of the Atlantic.
But still, I wish her all the best in what ever her next project is.

i liked sandra joseph, she was really good! her "wishing" was amazing
if they want fresh blood in the musical then why on earth is rebecca pitcher being cast as principle?......(not saying shes bad or anything im sure shes fine im just wondering) shes been in it for ageeessssss....

Yes, it is reminiscent of that aria. I like how the notes go up and down like that, in both pieces.
I am so disappointed that Rebecca Pitcher is the replacement. I saw her, she was OK, but GEEZ. She has been in it forever. Time to move on, especially if she's been involved with it for over 10 years.
I just recently saw the show, this past weekend, and I found it very good. Sandra has a very slow wide vibrato, it is not horrible, but it just takes time to get used to. She was flat at the end of Think of Me when I saw it, but that was the only major issue I had with her. Her acting was very good, and her Wishing made all the people around me start to cry. I don't think she is worst christine, but she is not the best I have seen. I liked her acting especially towards the end of Act II.
