You would think Broadway new musicals would be lining up to cast him.

What happened?

He was once red hot, now he's replacing leads with Waitress and Little Shop, not originating roles.

Not sure if it's accurate, but I've heard he prefers the shorter time commitments so he can spend more time with family, especially having a young child.

He needs the cash after starring in that colossal bomb "Spinning Gold"! It made 11K at the boxoffice!

Why does he need the cash after his movie bombed? It’s not like he personally invested in it or wasn’t paid for his work.

I think they mean more so it didn’t help his profile. 
 

I do wonder. Like the upcoming Water for Elephants he’d be great for, but maybe he doesn’t want to travel, etc. who knows! Life of an actor!

He’ll be originating the lead in a Broadway bound show directly following Little Shop.

I agree that it’s surprising. His band doesn’t seem to be all that successful, his movie was a bomb, and he hasn’t had a new show in a while. His voice is great, and I hope he gets something big and good soon.
