I really thought she deserved the nomination over Andrea Martin.
Foster has nothing to worry about. She is absolutely phenomenal.
Cant wait to see her in Shrek.
I'd love to see her revive 'Unsinkable Molly Brown'.

I don't care who is sleeping with who
The part of me that just graduated with a BA in English/Drama wants to point out that it should be "I don't care who is sleeping with whom."
The snarky part of me wants to know if I walked into a BroadwaySecrets post instead.

What do you do with a BA in English?
Sorry. I had to.

Correct people's grammar on message boards and lament the fact that the song is painfully accurate.
Or at least that's what I've been doing since Saturday

Personally, I wouldn't have nominated any of the YF women. I'd knock out Andrea Martin and that PASSING STRANGE girl and insert Mary Testa and Jackie Hoffman.
But that's neither here nor there.

I don't think she'll be nominated for SHREK, just because the voters are probably starting to take her for granted (this line of thinking: "Well, of course she's talented, of course she can do what she's doing, and do it so well - why do we need to acknowledge it again?")
And I back this up with Nathan Lane's lack of a nomination for NOVEMBER.

November was a tacky rat's nest of one-liners discarded from the pilot of a CBS sitcom. Nathan Lane was perfectly serviceable in it, but pointing to his performance as "doing it so well" is preeetty off.
(Haven't seen Shrek, so no comment on Sutton's performance/chances!)

Posted: 2/25/09 at 2:16amI'm not a huge Sutton fan, but I don't see why she should be nominated? What does she do in Shrek that she hasn't done in previous shows? Belting, check. Tapping, check. Comedic shtick, check. Why nominate her? She's simply just a filler. I think the only person from Shrek that should be nominated should be Mr. James.

I haven't yet seen Shrek so I'm asking for clarification:
Is Fiona going to be eligle for LEADING or SUPPORTING actress? Opinions please?

Posted: 2/25/09 at 8:14amJust off of what I saw, I'd say probably leading. She doens't really appear until a bit into the show, but once she's there it's a rather sizable role. So I would say Leading for sure. That being said, I'm not entirely sure she will get a nomination, as what is being said here is quite true. There's just not that much in the role to showcase what she can do. If it were for featured, perhaps since she does get some solo numbers to shine and plays off the others (especially Brian d'Arcy James) quite well. But if it's for Leading, not so sure she'll get it and quite positive that even if she does (there's not exactly a plethora of other choices this time around) she will not win.
