I had no idea he sings. But I can picture him in the role.
This sounds wonderful. Not only is wonderful that Ashford's brilliant production will be coming to us, Knight could be a potentially brilliant Leo Frank.
Wait...weren't we JUST talking about him in a revival of Lend Me a Tenor???
Well, this does only go until November. Plenty of time for him to go back to Broadway with the Tenor revival.
This is a limited, 8-week engagement at the Mark Taper Forum in LA. The rumored Lend Me a Tenor revival has been mentioned for Broadway 2010. Plenty of time to do both, should the latter happen.
When it rains it pours, eh?
Good for him, and hopefully good for us!!!
I just wish this was happening in NYC--fingers crossed for a transfer, at some point.
I agree that a transfer of Parade would be wonderful. I didnt see the show on Broadway, but I have seen it at two top notch musical theatre colleges and have seen a copy of the Broadway show. It is a heartbreaking piece, and even though the subject matter isnt exactly "family oriented" I am surprised that the show did so poorly on Broadway. You'd think that a great cast, moving book, and phenominal score would be enough to drive a show to success. I think the show is more respected now, and I would love to see a very intimate revival, in a small theatre with a tiny cast. The Vivian Boumount (spelling, sorry!) stage was too large for this general small show. A revival where we could focus on the story, not scope, would be wonderful.
F*CK "Lend Me A Tenor" -- bring us a revival of PARADE!!!!!!!!!
This is great. I've never heard him sing but I loved him on Grey's Anatomy, and I love this musical.

I need to see this show before I die.
I would love to see this version of the show. It's a great show, and I hope it transfers to New York - maybe the Circle?
That's awesome. I was going to add this to the list of things I'm hoping to see in California sometime soon (First Wives Club, Bonnie and Clyde, August: Osage County with Parsons, Oleanna). And now with the addition of Knight I will definitely be there. I've never seen a professional production of Parade, just a really astounding one at a Thespian Conference back in high school. Still, an absolutely thrilling score and altogether a wonderful piece of theater.

NO! I leave the country for three months on September 13!
Not to sound like Florida Evans, but damn damn DAMN.
They announced some more cast members (Michael Berresse, Charlotte D'Amboise, Christian Hoff, and Lara Pulver), but aside from Lara Pulver as Lucille Frank, didn't announce what roles any of these people are playing. Odd.

Alright it's been a while since I've seen Parade, but where exactly would D'Amboise fit in? Very excited to see they have someone from the Donmar Production in the cast. That just makes me all the more excited.
yeah, if Charlotte D'Amboise isn't Lucille I can't think who she would be. I guess she could be Mrs. Phagan, but that doesn't really seem like a good fit for her
D'Amboise doesn't strike me as appropriate for any role in this piece. She's not a particularly good actress.
She does have 2 Tony nominations.

...for roles that are primarily dancing roles. I've never denied her talents as a dancer. But Parade is all about acting.
She must be Mrs. Phagan.
I'm more curious about what role Michael Berresse is playing. I hope he's not playing Dorsey, although I have a feeling he is...
