Where is it written that 'Shrek' will have these huge gigantic sets that everyone is talking about???

A young actress with Noel coward after a dreadful opening night performance said to him 'Well, i knew my lines backwards this morning!'' Noels fast reply was ''Yes dear, and thats exactly how you said them tonight'!'

XANADU will "probably" (-key word) close if it does not pick up any TONY Nominations after May or award after JUNE then go to on TOUR>

I expected it was gonna close, but not this soon!
I imagined they would try and stunt cast it out some more with some bigger names than yea, the current 'stunt casts' in the show now (forgot their names, sorry).

Well this is actually pretty disappointing, I think it'll be sad to see it go. I wish I could make it to New York to see the final show...

Best of luck to the cast and crew in their final month or so!

I'm shocked. CP is such an incredible show. It seems so odd that its closing so abruptly. I don't understand...

Now all I see are cute boys with short haircuts in a maze of their own...

I am quite shocked I have to say.

I thought it would close this year, it has had a wonderful run, but not so early! Sad to see this heartfelt musical go. I am sure it will live forever.

Wonder whats more immediate for The Broadway Theatre (lets hope they rename it soon for starters!) - Shrek maybe at the end of 08...but it will need a show for about 4-6 months unless it plans on being dark for long ol' time

Too bad. I really enjoyed The Color Purple. And I thought Oprah would keep it going just for her own ego.

I know to some it seems like an unusually large amount of shows are closing. But this is fairly typical of this time of year. It happens all the time.

I'm surprised it's closing so soon. I do hope to see it again before it closes but I'm disappointed that I have not heard that great of reviews for Chaka Khan. Can anyone who has seen it with Chaka convince me that it is worth it?

I too have to add that I'm surprised the show is closing this soon. I knew it wouldn't run forever, but I thought it would close at the end of this year. I might have to make a trip to see it again.

I never saw the show and never had any desire to see it, but I'm a little sad to see it go-- it's a show that gave a lot of black actors work, and there aren't that many all-black cast shows.

There's a lot I am not certain of...

Oprah's got the bucks, she should get Fantasia back for the last week with Chaka and do an HD taping. She could make it back in cable and DVD sales easily.

The surprises keep coming. Elisabeth Withers is leaving the show this Thursday. From her myspace:

Maybe, but I could have sworn that she re-upped back in December. It was on her myspace, I believe, but now I can't find it.
