Georgia Engel to Star in Drowsy Tour; Additional Dates Revealed
Anyone heard any rumors about other casting?
let's hope someone doesn't make Georgia mad. lest she quit much like she did on Broadway!
Who said Georgia quit and/or got mad at someone? Frankly, she was probably my least favorite in the show.
I'm kind of bummed that DC isn't even on the schedule yet, which means if it does come here, it won't be until the latter half of 2008.
I'm kind of surprised at some of those sites for a first-run tour. Not all, but some of those? Nashville's Tennessee Performing Arts Center is a lot better. Maybe their tour availability was all filled up.

I sure hope Bob and Georgia make it to Atlanta. I'm loving the fact that some of the original cast members are doing the tour.

It was announced that it would be part of the 07/08 season in San Francisco, but no specific date was announced for the engagemnt, just that it would be Summer 2008. But from the schedule, it looks like SF will be getting the show Aug 2008.
Yay! Loved her! I'l definitely be going home to see it!
Thta's great! She'll be a real draw because of her TV name, and then we can also get great Broadway talents elsewhere instead of trying to find a big name who has no talent.

I think Nancy Opel would be a GREAT Chaperone. She's brilliant, and if she can't do Grey Gardens...this is the role for her.
That's all I'm saying.
Thanks Wanna Be A Foster for the post.
Loved the show the 2 times I saw it shortly after it opened on Broadway, and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the tour when it plays down here in Ft. Lauderdale.
Looking forward to the other cast annoucements, which most of us on here will know who they are -- whether they are 'names' or not. Having Georgia Engel headlining will be a bit misleading but at least it'll bring some attention to the show.
I can't belive it's playing Boston's Opera House. It's the theatre that actually managed to swallow up The Lion King and Phantom. Drowsy will be lost on that stage.

Georgia did not get mad and quit. Her contract was up.

I would love to see more original cast members on the tour. At least Beth and Danny. I guess I shall have to wait for the rest of the casting to be announced.
Ugh! Where's Chicago on this list??

I totally agree. Is the Colonial taken at that time?

Bob and Georgia are on board. Why wouldn't Beth and Danny?

I read somewhere that this girl got Kitty.
Marla Mindelle
Are you serious?!?! I saw her in a production of "The Wild Party" in Boston. If that's true, I'll have to see it!
She looks like more of a "Janet."

Beth and Danny both have young families, so I can't imagine them being in a position to take off touring for a year. And Bob won't be doing the whole tour.
Nancy Opel in Grey Gardens sounds like a really good idea! The Drowsy Chaperone won't even come to San Francisco until July or August? That's not cool.
Maybe Rachel York can leave Camelot to don the Janet pin curl wig?
I think she'd be stellar as Janet Van De Graff.
While Rachel would indeed be a wonderful Janet, she wants to get back to New York after her experience with the "Camelot" tour.
i'm totally ok with that too. Rahcel York could play Nelli in South Pacific.
