Well you said she must have been really upset. Upset would imply that she was well, upset.

"But they are critics. Their job is to go in whith an open mind. If they can't do that then why do they have the job they do."
I'm sorry, but I find it hard to believe that they went into this show with an open mind. I'm sure some, if not most of them knew that they going in ready to rip the show apart.
"Well duh. The average theater going tourists don't have the taste or knowledge of a critic."
And they're the majority out of the people who go to New York to see shows; and a vast majority doesn't bother with reviews. What taste or knowledge does a theatre critic have? They just apply for the job. All they have to do is go see shows and then write a review. Their reviews are written on their opinion; the average theatre goer could easily see a show and write their opinion on it and would be just as valid because it's also opinion based, but apparently it has to be someones job to tell us what we like and don't like. If a critic has seen a show produced by the same company that they didn't like in the past, odds are, they are going to go into the new show ready to hate it.

Yikes!! These are the worst reviews I've seen since . . . Moose Murders? Carrie? Comments?
What taste or knowledge does a theatre critic have?
- I'm going to ignore that comment. Especially about knowledge.
The Philadelphia Inquirer critic loved it!

Aladdin, you're really naive if you actually believe what you wrote.
Critics don't waltz in and apply for a job - they're journalists who specalize in the arts. Drama critic, especially for a paper like the Times, is a highly prostigeous position. One would think Ben Brantley, who has been doing it since the early 90s, would know what he's talking about.
I wonder if Perez Hilton liked it.

ok... you TOLD me... I stand corrected. PASSION was open when the Tony's happened. That doesn't change my point. You could win every award and accolade known to man and still not make money because the people who endow a show with awards and critical praise comprise a small fraction of the people who see Broadway shows. There is no premise of the critics or the awards voters REPRESENTING the public.
Hillary looks like she's going to keel over and die any minute.
Why do they choose people who can't put two words together without gasping for breath?
Is Hillary under the sea and she needs to keep reaching her mouth above sea level for oxygen?
Meanwhile, that Dawn is REPUBLICAN CENTRAL.
Don't mess with her. That woman reminds me of Ann Coulter.

Why can't you just accept the fact that some people loved the show?
I can accept it if they can just articulate it!
"Yikes!! These are the worst reviews I've seen since . . . Moose Murders? Carrie? Comments?"
Looking back through Carries Reviews i think it got better reviews than mermaid did....i mean at least Clive Barnes raved about Carrie

WOW! I hope Hillary doesn't come here and read all these personal attacks against her. Some of you people take MEAN to a whole new level.
I think I should print these posts and present them to the next person who calls me mean in person, so they can see just how tame I am compared to. lol.

To quote the inimitable Dolores de Lago, the Toast of Chicago:
"The question before us is where's her clitoris?"
I'll stick with Bette.
I was shocked when I heard Roma Torre of NY 1 give it a qualified approval. She hates mostly everything.
"I can accept it if they can just articulate it!"

I'd say that's pretty well articulated.
And when I accused you of continually posting the same negative opinion about the show, you said you actually kind of liked it. So why don't you write some of the things here you really liked?
Tell me that with all it's faults, you didn't lose yourself in the show a little when Sierra sang POYW.
Yep.
I'm pretty sure that Hillary woman on "Word of Mouth" was about to pass out during taping.
