I am just noticing the silver slippers, which are fine, but not crazy about the red sneakers.

Chill out??? I am not even doing anything wrong. I am only posting updates on this. Don't tell me to chill
I'm just now reading the last several pages of this thread and it's been pretty entertaining, especially the use of the "word" cinematographic.
Kenny Leon is directing this so I have no worries about this broadcast. Kenny is an amazing director and everyone complaining about this broadcast not being true to the original needs to chill or at least stop bitching until you actually see it.

I for one am happy to hear that the arrangement of "Ease On Down The Road" is close to the original arrangement with the staccato horns over the movie version.
That actually sounds like the Broadway cast recording to me. Or am I wrong?

I don't see many people complaining that it won't be faithful to the original. Most complaints are directed at the claim by one person that it will be faithful to the original. It seems that it will not be entirely faithful, and to claim otherwise is absurd. It is solely within that claim that most complaints lie.
Could this look any more sanitized?? I hope these CGI backgrounds are pulled from some generic "Wizard of Oz" video game and aren't indicating the art direction of this production. Where's the style? The concept? The flavor? Where's "The Wiz?"
The whole thing seems to be suffering from an identity crisis.
"Oh Georgie, how I long for the old view ..."
"Where is style? Where is skill? Where is forethought? ..."

BUT TEDDY SAYS IT'S TRUE TO THE ORIGINAL AND WILL BE PERFECT AND AMAZING SO YOU CANNOT CRITICIZE OR DOUBT IT. OKAY???

Just because oz looks like this in the commercial does not mean it will actually look like this.
I sure hope not. That commercial isn't doing it any favors.
Bestbars, it already sounds like you're ready to hate this broadcast no matter what. Instead of tearing down every aspect of what LITTLE you have seen, perhaps try and be more positive and stop being so one note on this thread.

Just for the record, Besty is a legit expert on all things Oz.
He's written novels about Oz, knows the Baums personally, and is considered by them to be one of the foremost experts on Baum's world and characters.
I can assure no one wants this production to be great more than best12bars.
Then why be so negative? Wouldn't he be the first person to support this production? Especially with the great directing team we're getting?

Not if he feels it's potentially doing a disservice to the original....
Not if he thinks it looks like crap.
And to be honest, the direction of the project so far deserves some criticism.
I love the WIZ, but I think this production looks pretty bad. And based on SOM and Peter Pan I don't have that much confidence that this will be anything other than passable.
Wait so Best12 shouldn't express his negative opinion because there's a "great directing team" behind the show and...what else? Do you hear yourself?
Best12Bars is the reason I've listened THE WIZ OBCR even though I strongly didn't like it when I first listened to it. I hope he continues to express his opinion, especially after the show airs.
Bestbars can express any opinion he wants, but expressing negative opinions about a CGI backdrop that won't even be seen in the broadcast.....come on now.
