Someone decided to "take the heat off Tarzan" by mentioning how bad Lestat was...why, if the show you love is so amazing, do you need to bash another show to make yourself feel better? Hmm?

Merle is just..Wow. I knew she was a Joanne, but I hadn't seen her in that. She has such a gorgeous voice, and as munkustrap178 once brought up, (this is the only thing I hate about Merle) is the way she sings You'll be in my heart." The two words, be and in, and like, smushed together. Not my cup of tea. "You'll bean my heart...yes you'll bean my heart."

yes, but the tone (i guess thats what its called, sry, not a major in music) of her voice during that song is just gorgeous! i liked it more live than i do on the album, but i loved her since she sang that song.

Tarzan was good. I liked it. But with Beauty,Lion King and Mary Poppins on Broadway now and Little Mermaid on its way, I think Disney needs to close a show or two.

when Disney decides to close a show, let it be "Beauty and the Beast". it's wonderful and all, but it's been the longest running Disney Theatricals production, let it be the first to close.

I don't think it really matters, but it wasn't exactly a critical success.

ATTENTION ALL PEOPLE! GO SEE TARZAN!
Oh, and do you think any of them will get Drama Desk awards this year seeing as it wasn't being considered last year?
I think Josh and Jenn might have possibly gotten Tony noms if there wasn't such great talent at the Tonys in June (Patti LuPone, Kelli O'Hara, John Lloyd Young, Lachanze), so that whole "lighting design" nod was because they couldn't just kick out like, Sutton Foster for Jenn Gambatese.

Disney better not close ANY show! ESPECIALLY Beauty and the Beast, it is such an amazing life-changing show and that would be awful to deprive people not being from this generation of seeing it. I hope it runs FOREVER, I hope all the shows run forever. And I also hope that one day the only shows on Broadway will be Disney shows, that would be SOO cool. Disney has the best shows EVER!

PS: my Tarzan OCR ran for $9.99, I got it from iTunes.

true, no Disney show deserves to go, but when the time comes when one HAS to (for some reason), i think that the one that's been there the longest (Beauty & the Beast) should go first...

my favorite song on the OBCR is "Strangers Like Me"
i love the orchestrations and all
but yeah, i remember when i was a crazy fan of the movie when i was little (had a loincloth i bought at TARGET which i ran around the house wearing), i sang that song for a talent show :) i was in 1st grade, haha

i'm a tarfan all the way i saw the sgow in previews and loved it yeah not the best story but effects and music were amaizing. But the performers were amaizing. Jenn Gambatese is flawless and Josh Strickland besides being gorgious is outstanding.

For me, it's really not that extreme. Both of them were great, but they are not super amazingly uber perfect.
