Does anyone know why the first 3 or 4 rows of Take Me Out are not available for any show for the entire run? I called Telecharge and they checked with theatre and the box office said they didn't didn't know either.
To protect the cast from COVID exposure from the house section of the theatre. Backstage everyone is tested daily (cast, crew, personnel) so they know the status of everyone on stage.

Much more likely to avoid a splash zone during the shower sequence than Brody's suggestion given the multitude of Broadway shows currently playing to audience members sitting in their first 3 rows...

My guess is that they're blocking them off until they can load in the set and test the showers.
Because of Jesse Williams in Act II.

The Schoenfeld is bigger than the Hayes, so there shouldn't be any need for them to make any kind of adjustment related to the set, other than possible additions to fill the extra empty space. Considering how empty the theater looks, is it really that important to sit that close?

As I recall the showers are pretty much upstage. They pose no threat to the audience.

Maybe they are saving them for Rush/Lottery?

This was my first thought.

That or maybe they are going to donate or offer them at low cost to LGBTQ student groups. Looking at the seating chart, only the first row isn't available in the across the entire orchestra section, while only the 2nd and 3rd rows are available to purchase on the left and right orchestra sections, but not center orchestra.
My guess is they will likely be removing the first row of seats for either set or actor comfort purposes, by creating a 2-3 feet gap between the first row of the audience and the stage. The show already had issues with audience behavior at the Hayes and that was very late into its run, as such I would imagine this might be a preventative measure. Then regarding the next to rows, my guess is either lottery/rush or for lgbt student groups.
