This story is absolutely ridiculous. I can't believe that someone could have so much hatred in them to say and do such a thing - it makes me really upset, especially since Taye and Idina deserve none of that. This, I'm sure, is how everyone feels, but I did want to comment on how the security at the stage door and at the Gershwin did feel as though it was pretty tight. All women needed to have their purses searched (I don't know if this went on before), and while waiting at the stage door, there was a lot of conflict about the exact positioning of the car, when Idina would come out, and where. Also, does anyone know if JLT had a car before? I was kind of surprised that she did. Anyway, I think that now, after reading this story, it is pretty obvious that the Gersh is taking a lot of necessary precautions to avoid a potentially bad situation.
yes, JLT did have a car (at least when I was there in early Nov). Just wondering did Idina actually stop and sign stuff or just went to her car. I think I would a little frightened if I were her. I'm suprised she even came out that door. I hate that someone has done this. That someone could be so ignorant!!!
What is your dream role?
My dream role would be to be myself. To be performing at the Hollywood Bowl and to have an audience there just to see me, as Stephanie. They are there because they like what I do as a singer, an artist and a person (the last being the most important). GretchaSketch - in response to your question, when I was there on Wednesday, Idina went out the stage door, went down to the end of the line (her left, our right), and signed some autographs.. she was moving pretty fast because JLT had came out and started at the same place about 5 min. before her, and Idina caught up to her very very fast (but then again JLT signed everyone's stuff and took pics too). So Idina was probably outside for all of 5-8 min. I was at the very end of the barricade, closest to her car - she came over to me and my friend, and signed for us, talked briefly, then got into her car. What I noticed was weird was the car pulled off in one direction, then when we were walking to the parking garage, it drove right by us again in the direction it had just come from - maybe to confuse people? I don't know! So Idina was pretty generous, especially considering now that I know there are so many problems!
I was in the same spot Check your personality! And they all stopped to tell me they liked my shirt. Idina seemed to be fine. She moved quickly and she knew me from when i met her before the show. There was too big of a crowd so i couldnt see her car-i was in the front and nest to the bar that you stand in people were waiting. Idina walked off and one girl called her back and asked if she could sign one more thig, and Idina came back.
"Yes is is absolutely awful. No one should have to be subjected to that... but you also have to realize that every other interacial celebrity couple prob. gets mail like this all the time. I know the light is on them right now, but we all have to be more aware of the pain that other couples are going through as well" -Couldn't have said it better myself! And while this is a terrible thing to be going through but in an attempt to turn it into a positive they could almost look at it like "wow, look, we are doing well enough in our carrers that people are beginning to take notice of us."

I think "sicko" is too nice a word for this person. Seriously, what the hell is up with people these days? This is too bad...they are two very hard working dedicated people who should not have to go through something like this.
Forget just interracial couples, but sending letters like this to anyone is just wrong.

Well with everything I have read on here about Idina, both good and bad, she must be thinking of her fans through all of this. I seem to recall that she recevied threats earlier this year and yet she still continues to greet her fans. Ashame something like this has to happen.
I spent many years living right in the Broadway theatre district, and have learned of many cases where hate mail and threats have been directed to actors.
There are also many cases where fans of a performer get too carried away, and I know of several who were banned from certain theatres because of their actions/words/whatever.
We live in very stressed times, and I, personally, never complain at purse checkings and bag screenings.
At least this info was published; hopefully it will bring a better realization that while actors are special to us, they are human also. It must be horrid living with direct threats.
