You're all ridiculous. You complain and complain that Broadway doesn't get the recognition it deserves and then when it happens, it's stupid. Unbelievable.
Of course she's not trying to sound Broadway-worthy. 1) She's not a soprano and 2) she's singing it in her style. It's a promotional thing! Lighten up!

Amen!!! I personally liked it and I think she did a good job.
It's great how MTV is promoting the VMAs in this manner and musicals in general. I can't tell you how many people I know that have fallen in love with musical theater and it was because of the Search for Elle Woods show. Sure, Legally Blonde is seen as fluff by some, but hey it's a step. Who knows? Maybe someone might see this promo and curiousity would lead them to learn more about West Side Story, then a fan is born!

I like that they attempted to give these awards some class and included a fabulous showtune, but boy, that girl cannot sing to save her life! Why is she so successful I will never know...
The same goes for Myley Cyrus, awful singers.

The Taylor Swift promo sucks, but the ~*~ COBRA STARSHIP ~*~ one is HELLA SWEET.
(Okay, that one is probably objectively terrible as well. But I've seen those bitches in concert three times and I love them. What what.)
