Morrison looked good today.
He stood in the middle of the lobby at intermission all tall and sexy.
It was my second time seeing the show and first time seeing the new cast members. I missed Kelli but have no complaints about Katie. Aaron Lazar was fantastic.
Great post performance speech by Victoria. She started out by saying she hoped none of us had a roast in the oven. Very cute and the speech was not too long, just perfect. I was also excited to see Jonathon Butterell take a modest bow from the audience.
I saw this show last month and am SO glad I did. It was beautiful and I am sooooo glad I got to Tivo it on PBS as well!
the final performance was absolutley beautiful. i'm really going to miss this show.
and matt morrison in the audience wiping his eyes at the end totally did me in! i was a sappy mess by the time the curtain call came around!

It was amazing! Vicki's speech was very touching. The cast stood on stage for a while and then Victoria said "Well, I hope no one has a roast in the oven." so cute. She demanded for everyone who doesn't normally take a bow to get up on stage and bask in the spotlight. Once the orchestra was announced (and although you can't see them because they're under the stage) you could hear their unique applause, which was stomping. It was charming meeting everyone. I didn't get to see Sara UB but everyone else was there.
The audience was also spectacularly enthusiastic. They clapped as much as they could as long as they could. They even clapped through half of the italian announcement which told us to turn off our cellphones once they heard the title of the show. If i were any of the cast members i would be extremely grateful. All the applause seemed like it made the show twice as long. Although a few people applauded at the part when clara throws water all over franca (i thought was very inappropiate.) But "fable" got a mid song applause which was nice.
Also I want to talk about Katie Clarke. I remember there were a lot of people who criticized her for her performance, weight and vocals and I must say that the PBS version did her little justice if that was what the opinion was based on. It's incredible how charming and passionate her performance was and how satisfying her vocals were as well. I have to say I first saw her on PBS and thought she was a sort of weak vocal performer but my mind has been completely changed with this last performance. She looked gorgeous, beautifully thin and sounded vocally strong. I was bauling when she sang "The Light in the Piazza". "Clara's interlude" was also hugely improved from the PBS version. Maybe she had an off day, I don't know. All i know is that she is spectacular. A superstar in the making. And only 21!

Did anyone notice if there was any media there covering the final performance?
Was Victoria the only one to make a speech?
It was a truly incredible experience at the theater and I am so glad to have been there. It was my seventh and final time seeing the show and yes, I was in tears by the end of the show. Here's hoping that more Broadway shows in the future are as beautiful as this one was.
Also, great seeing you again, Addy, Cookie and KMF...and nice meeting you, Glebb!

I was in tears from the moment I set foot in the theatre...
It was an extraordinary performance and farewell. And to have shared it with people who mean the world to me made it perfect.
(Loved seeing Dottie and WithoutATrace!)

DottieD'Luscia had a wonderful time...he will be adding his comments when he gets access to a computer. He enjoyed seeing Addy and meeting Cookie, Glebb and KMF. (this is what he just told me via phone to write for him)

Isabella2 its Guettel, not Guetall.
I agree with your statement about Katie Clarke. She was STUNNING on Wednesday and Friday. There is no other word for it. Her acting and her vocals were spot on. After her Friday night 'Piazza' she got the longest applause I have ever heard after that song, and she deserved every second of it. Kelli was also sitting 2 rows behind me that night!
Korenglish, is there any way you could please send me the black and white photo of Victoria and Kelli from New York Magazine? I have never seen it at that size, only small!
If you could, that would be amazing!!

sorry, i'm a newbie to the whole piazza thing.
edit: was anyone annoyed by the extremely obnoixious person at the stagedoor who was constantly asking is the people who were coming out were actors. I was. He kept staring at me and stepping on my feet.

I missed Kelli today but it was cool seeing Matt Morrison. Anyway, it was amazing. Is it just me or did Michael Beresse trip on the stairs really hard today? I heard some people go "ooh". And Katie lost her shoe once, but handled it really well.
