Lilla/Annie (Block is the nominee that shouldn't have been there), Terrance Mann but not Pippin?, Rashad but not Williams for Trip to Bountiful?

How was Boyd Gaines overlooked for his dynamic work in ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE?

Anthony Warlow - the one true legit voice on broadway today and with excellent reviews for Annie and noooo nomination? Sad and yet Rob McClure and Stark Sands and Santino Fantana?

Vanessa Williams - and yet Rashad? Please

A special Tony for Matilda Girls and not even a nomination for Lilla Crawford in Annie? WTF?

best musical - Bring it On? What they didn't have enough of successful shows they had to nominate a tour show?

Not interested this year - Oh and Bette, and Hecht - never mind
Until the nomination process is cleaned up the awards will always be a political sham -

Both Lauren Ward and Condola Rashad brought similar things to their shows. The brought nuance and a depth of feeling that anchored their shows and made them shimmer. Though there were other showier performances in MATILDA and BOUNTIFUL, the work of Ward and Rashad was exquisite and necessary to making their pieces deeply resonate.

I'm thrilled that the committee honored quiet work with a lot of depth.

Mostly Anthony Warlow - amazing performer, amazing voice -I have said it before and I will say it again, Tony's don't really appreciate subtle and understated. Not to put down those in the other category - but talent comes in many styles.

And Lilla Crawford - who IMO is a big step above your everyday cutsy-poo Annie..should also have been given a nod, especially since the Matilda girls got a "special" award. Lilla is at the very least as equally talented as they are.

I also have some ??? about some who WERE nominated instead but that's another thread.

Warlow for sure deserves it over Santino. I mean, really? I forgot he was even in a show.

Boyd Gaines & Fiona Shaw are the glaring omissions.

Ann Harada. If not for Cinderella, then an honorary Tony for being the most realistic part of Smash.

Did any of you see all these:

Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Golden Boy, The Big Knife, The Lucky Guy.

I only saw Woolf, and as I mentioned in a post above, I thought Madison Dirks was snubbed.

The nominees for Featured Actor in a Play are:

Danny Burstein
Tony Shalhoub
Richard Kind
Courtney B. Vance

Please at least tell me they were deserving. I do like all four and have seen them in other things.

Vanessa Williams - snubbed. She is the reason many fans of her 30+ year career came to see The Trip to Bountiful.

All respect to the amazing legend Cicely, but I would not have paid to see her without Vanessa.

Vanessa Williams is also a legend of her era and is one of the 3 top stars (and in the TV ads) yet Condola got a nod over her?!?! Seriously? Boooooooooo!
