^Uh, what? Im sure the cast would rather move to any other theatre than to close the show for good.

"From what I know, Priscilla has the Marquis, or is in the final stages of booking it. Other thoughts:

"BERNARD B. JACOBS Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson?"
I just heard what was going into the Jacobs, but can't, for the life of me, remember what it is. But I don't think it was this.

"BROADHURST The Book of Mormon?"
No. The Broadhurst is getting a musical revival in January. Supposedly something with Al Pacino is going in for the Fall, but I haven't gotten anyone to verify that.

"GERALD SCHOENFELD The Orphan's Home Cycle?"
Ummm...no. A Life in the Theatre was confirmed for the Schoenfeld a few weeks ago (though they booked it about two months ago).

"JOHN GOLDEN Hedwig and the Angry Inch?"
The Golden also has booked its next show, and once again I can't remember what it is! This sounds like it may be right though.

"ST. JAMES (Though from what I've heard, American Idiot would transfer) How to Succeed in Buisness Without Really Trying?"
Transferring shows is expensive. If a show isn't making money in one house, it'll unlikely make money in another.

"E o'neil and I heard that the cast specifically didn't want that theatre or the Walter kerr"

Who cares where the cast wants to perform. The producers make the decisions, not the cast.

Helen Hayes is officially free after July 4.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I started thinking over my morning coffee about how although the spring looks really busy, there are still lots of houses that won't have tenants. Anyone have any insights or guesses into whats going in? Here's a snapshot of the spring:

Helen Hayes: Long Story Short (to Jan 9)
Hirschfeld: Elf/How To Succeed...
Kerr: A Little Night Music/The House of Blue Leaves

Doesn't Unchain My Heart have the Barrymore after Elling closes? Or is that show not happening anymore?

That Championship Season needs a theatre; I would assume that would go into either the Cort or Broadhurst.

Mark Rylance just said in the times that Jerusalem will probably start rehearsing about 3-4 weeks after La Bete closes (so starting previews in late April, I'm assuming).

Will Pure Country finally happen? Godspell?
