Gold Derby's website has been a complete mess lately, they've redone the whole thing and have yet to update a lot of it. I wouldn't take anything it says at the moment too seriously. Leslie at 100/1 is obviously untrue.

Not sure which actor you're talking about, but Soo does have such brilliant little moments in the show, notably her gut-wrenching scream when Philip dies and her gasp when she sees the audience at the end. I can't listen to/watch either without tearing up.
I am actually surprised that so many people are considering Creel, given that he has not been widely recognized for this role. On the other hand, I am happy to see that Nick Barasch on some of these lists.
<< Gavin Creel and Kate Baldwin making vocal love... I adore these two.

I'm surprised as well. I think Barasch has a much higher chance at a nomination tomorrow morning than does Creel.
Why? Gavin Creel has been nominated twice before and is beloved by the community, not to mention this is his first time opening a show in New York since Hair.

Absolutely! However, he hasn't really received any other nomination reception for this performance in any other awards this season. Barasch has. I'm not saying Creel is out of the running, but I think the momentum is much greater for Barasch than Creel here. We'll know in less than 24 hours!

Wow, Musto's predictions are spot on. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a 98-99% accuracy. I think Creel and Barasch are close, but I'd give the edge to Barasch. It's a breakout performance and he is truly fantastic. He also has more stage time and his role has more of a clear arc than Creel's. I'd be happy to see either one recognized though. I still think Christopher Jackson will get in along with Groff and Diggs.
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
Broadway Forever2 said: "Hamilton will easily win book right? The Drama Desk awards couldn't even nominated any musicals for book because they didn't think any were that good"
Hamilton WILL win Best Book, but I think I'm actually in the minority of people who doesn't think that it deserves that award. I found Hamilton's book to be a bit hectic and unfocused. But, that being said, it's certainly better than most of the book's this season.
I guess I'm a little confused. I always thought the book of a musical was the spoken dialogue; anything not spoken was considered a lyric, which would then be nominated under score (music/lyric.) Is that not accurate? I'm guessing not?
