Has anyone heard anything yet? Do touring casts get announced, or do you kind of just find out once the tour's begun? Sorry if these are silly questions– I am new at this.
I've been wondering if any of the OBC would go on the tour. Presumably they wouldn't have left the Broadway production for it, but now that that will be closed... What do you think? On the one hand I wish they all would because they're so great, but on the other hand I'm sure I'm sure there's other great Middle Eastern actors waiting in the wings for such an opportunity.
Not sure who will be in the cast. The tour does start in June though, so this thread is good timing for this. Im curious if anyone from broadway will transfer as well.
Small update: at the final stage door, we heard that some of the Broadway cast are going on the tour. No specifics on who, of course, but an interesting tidbit anyway!

Ooh, where did you hear that?
Ari'el Stachel said, also at stage door, that he was going to a rehearsal for his next project the next day and it also has "Visit" in the title."
"The Visitor" also based on a film and adapted for the stage by Kitt/Yorkey. Good to see it's moving ahead.

At the Hartford/Bushnell Broadway series reveal for next year, the actor playing Ariel stachel’s role sang his solo song (Haleds song i think??) and he was fantastic. I was so impressed.

I am guessing that Katrina would probably tour if they give her over-the-top billing and pay her a premium. Going on tour is quite taxing and hard on people's personal lives. If I were her, I'd be auditioning for non-singing roles. I had the fortune of seeing her in quite a few plays and musicals in LA. I wouldn't be surprised to see her headlining a non-musical play on Broadway or off-Broadway next season.
"It does what a musical is supposed to do; it takes you to another world. And it gives you a little tune to carry in your head. Something to take you away from the dreary horrors of the real world. A little something for when you're feeling blue. You know?"

James and Joe (Broadway Standbys) will also go on tour"
Wow?! I guess since he is already away from home just being in the US, traveling from city to city isn't as big a deal as it might be for someone NYC-based. But still, wow.
I saw James Rana go on as Avrum once, thought he did a great job!
I could be reading too much into it, but I feel by him saying "the character originally played by Katrina Lenk", to me, implys she is not going on tour.

Yeah, I think that was always a long-shot. It makes sense she'd stay in New York to make the most of her Tony-win momentum. She's got a TV role– I don't know if that show will be renewed, but she might be wanting to look for others? Personally I'd love to see her back on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel– either as the fortune-teller or, knowing the Palladinos sometimes re-cast actors they like (like Sherilyn Fenn in Gilmore Girls played two different characters), some character who'd interact with Tony Shalhoub :)

Also:
Jennifer Apple as Anna, Mike Cefalo as Telephone Guy, Adam Gabay as Papi, Marc Ginsburg as Sammy, Kendal Hartse as Iris, Joe Joseph as Haled, Sara Kapner as Julia, Pomme Koch as Itzik, Ronnie Malley as Camal, James Rana as Simon, Or Schraiber as Zelger and David Studwell as Avrum, along with Danny Burgos, Loren Lester, Nick Sacks, Hannah Shankman and Bligh Voth.

I've never seen Chilina Kennedy in anything, though I've heard of her in context of "Beautiful." What do we think??
"
I've seen her in Beautiful six times and she is one of the most talented performers I have ever had the pleasure of seeing. I think she'll do an amazing job in this role and I am so excited for her.
