hahahahaha bobby that's phenominal.
sorry I'm dumb.
Unfortunately yes, I've heard it. Why does she think she is Mariah Carey?

yeah... she can be a bit American Idol, but i have heard worse. Her attitude seems to be what lets her down... but i hope that it isn't true. When you think how many thousands of people would do anything to be a principle in a Broadway show... it just makes me a little sad that someone has the opportunity and doesn't appreciate it!
During the riffs my dog started going nuts.
I'm listening to her BLESS THE LORD right now just for the heck of it. She is such a mix between a Mariah Carey wanna-be and an American Idol finalist on this song.
It's a great song though, but her need to riff every single note is irritating.
yeah. My friend did it better at a community theatre.
I just find it hard to enjoy Bean when I listen to past/current Broadway performers who do it so much better.
How can you enjoy Bean when held up to the likes of Gwen Verdon, Dorothy Loudon, Bernadette Peters, Carolee Carmello, etc.
I think the problem with the Bean Poles, is that they don't know any different. That's all they've heard.
I posted this Broadway quiz that was fairy easy, and there were lots of people who took it with Wicked type names, and their average score was 1/10.

i'm just lsitening to it actually... it's a little over powering! She has got a good range... but perhaps it needed toning down a little!
Yeah, I think that Godspell recording is good, until Bean'o Rama starts wailing.
Bobby, I agree.
If we asked *some* of the Beanpoles and Wicklyns who Gwen Verdon and some of the real great triple threats are - they wouldn't know what we are talking about.
They need to expand their tastes.
And then they call us "bitter" for not enjoying Bean's "talent".
It's funny, but the Bean love on here seems to have slowed way down.
Maybe they finally saw her in the show.
Or if they know who Verdon is, they have the NERVE to say she couldn't sing.
Which is very untrue.
true.
I appreciate a good belter. I love the likes of Idina and Sherie...but greenbean is just off the charts...in a not so good way.
Heck, I'd take Idina over Bean any day.
Sherie's toenail is more talented than Red Beans and Rice. (I'm trying out new nicknames).

Shoshana is leaving Broadway!?
Let's up that's a TRUE rumor.
She has good singing voice, but she can't really "act" or "hold the stage"

Please... i am going to NYC and will hopefully be seeing wicked... and her contract isn't up when i go. Please humour me and say she isn't really that bad in the show!
Great points, Bobby.
I totally agree that Idina is better than Shoshana. Idina can actually act. 2 Tony Noms, one win. She is talented.
But I agree, Sherie is in a totally different league than the Bean.

You are soooooooooooo right.
If you are going to make Elphaba work, you need to create an ark for the character. A beginning, a middle, and and an end. BeanThereDoneThat doesn't have the skills to pull that off. Her acting was very amateur and she never did anything but perform the songs as if she were at an Idol audition.
And the night I saw her, she was off-key for parts of her performance.
she's probably not bad if you haven't seen anyone else do it right.
Wicked is a so so show that can be very entertaining with the right cast. The current cast, for the most part, exposes a lot of the big flaws in the show.
Bobby-
BeanThereDoneThat is a winner
