The Elphaba Shuffle

This is my first Wicked thread. Ever. Don't yell.

I'm confused. Are all 3 of the current Elphaba's contracts up in January? By all 3 I mean Steph, Shoshanna, and Ana. I was just told that Shoshanna is hopping on the tour by a friend, and I really reallly don't want that to be the case. She said they were just going to switch them around...any clue?

Sho and Ana leave in January, Steph leaves in March. No official word on replacements.

I believe the rumors of Bean joining the tour are untrue.

I think Wicked is her goodbye to musical theatre, as she embark on her "career" as an R&B artist. cough*yeahright*cough

Most Wicked rumors are made up, and have no truth to them at all.

There used to be a rumor that Wicked was closing.

I doubt they'd switch them around.

Bean has been very vocal about her want to not do Broadway anymore.

Well Bean has said she won't do Broadway unless it's in Funny Girl.

Since she'll never be cast in that show, I think we're safe from her "performances".

greenbean is the reason I haven't seen Wicked in almost a year. I saw her once, and it was only because we won the lottery on 1/9. I really want to see Meg Hilty, but I'm waiting till shoshana leaves.

I still can't beleive she would say that... but when she's auditioning again i hope casting directors remember it... if it's true i mean!

It has since, been removed. Of course.

I prefer calling her BeanCurd, but GreenBean works too.

her attitude seems horrible. I guess one night someone asked her what the best part of playing elphaba was, and she said "I get a driver."

The R&B thing is very true. She stated it multiple times when her website had a Q&A.

She had some real snotty answers on there.

yeah, I didn't beleive my ears.

Not that that wouldn't be amazingly wonderful, but you have a kid ask you what the best part of playing this role is, and you give such a dumb answer.

I know it. She really bothers me in Godspell. I didn't experience her in Hairspray, and I hated her in Wicked.

i think she has got a good voice... but there are a lot of things working against her for a music career! Plus you should never bite the hand that feeds you!

LOL @ Bobby.

The thing that makes me laugh so much - is that her little fans think she is this big star, but she is nothing more than a C-list Broadway performer.

I can't stand her voice, personally. It hits these weird tones that are very harsh and hard for me to sit through.

And her need to riff every note also drives me nuts.
