I think there should be a musical stage version that is based more on the T.V. show rather than just a parody of it. Here is my dream cast

Dorothy-Bebe Neuwirth
Rose-Faith Prince
Blanche-Bernadette Peters
Sophia-Patti LuPone (a very done up Patti LuPone)

emilyfaye48, the stage is more forgiving when it comes down to older actors and actresses playing younger characters and younger actors and actresses playing older characters. I thought Bebe has the perfect low contralto voice for Dorothy and I can totally see Faith as the Minnesota farm woman/moroon.

I don't think the OP's idea is that crazy. I kind of like that casting... Who cares what the poster's age is? If you've seen the show and you know a good deal about Broadway/actresses, it doesn't really matter.

You would need a larger storyline, though, unless you throw together a lot of episodes.
