The Lightning Thief to return (Off-broadway)

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

I’m kind of surprised it’s not returning to coincide with the inevitable popularity of the forthcoming Disney+ series.

The original one act version made a ton of money for TheaterWorks. No surprise that they've incorporated some of the new material into the one hour TYA version to send it back out.

Also, this headline is a bit misleading. It's literally doing two performances before heading out on to the typical TWUSA tour (lots of one day, student matinee performances). It's hardly a "return to Off-Broadway"

This was one of the worst pieces of trash I have ever seen on Broadway. Absolutely zero redeeming qualities.

I don't really know much about the show or score, but I do at least find 'Good Kid' kind of catchy and well performed on the cast recording (even if it appears to end so abruptly)

Give me claws and a hunch, just away from this bunch.

Now I’m angry that there’s an hourlong version of this yet they made me sit through a 2.5 hour version of it.

Was it a great musical? No. But if we are talking recent kids shows, I'd gladly sit through all of The Lightning Thief again before I suffered through a another minute of Be More Chill.

There's an HOUR version?? I bet I wouldn't have hated it on Broadway so much if it had been that shore. LOL.
