I actually liked TLK more than B&B just because at least it looked different. I wanted B&B to follow the story, but the fact that it had the same costumes made it look really cartoonish, I mean they would have used dark colors or slight alterations. Some stuff like what Belle wears is really iconic, and that could have stayed osmehwat the same, but the whole literal translation just looked too clunky.
<-------- It is playing here. That is a picture of the Ellie Caulkins with the Mermaid banners.
Here is the Denver Post Website with info and posts from people who have seen it. It should be up throughout the run.

I am sure there will be a big opening night gala in the Sewall Ballroom which has a nice view of the Rocky Mountains. And is located right in the DCPA (Denver Center for the Performing Arts) A VIP evening is happening on the 30th of August. $225.00 per person, $2,250.00 per table of 10. It will include cocktails and hor d'oeuvres at 6:00 PM. a catered dinner at 6:30pm. And curtain at 8:00. As Chair of an organization at the DCPA, we had all of our gala's there and it is a really nice room. They go all out. The room has some of the best lighting I have ever seen for a ballroom.
Reviews in Denver will be in the Sunday Paper. (Which is typical for us). The show is pretty much sold out for the run. best seats available after the official opening. But only on weekdays and I think very limited through the end of the run.
It is a big "to do" for the DCPA. It is not the "Talk of the town" though. (Even though it is practically sold out)I do have a block of 19 Orchestra seats for the 21st.
Disney and Denver Center Attractions (DCA) seem to have a now ongoing relationship. Lion King started its 1st National tour here. We re-vamped out ticketing system for it.
Local stations are covering it, but we are not seeing sets or performances, of course, but they are following it. I am sure it will be talked about more as it gets closer to opening and the weekend after it opens.
Trying to post a pic of the DCPA with the Mermaid Banners that I took last week. Can't seem to figure out how to do it!
Previews on NYC start November 3rd (I'll be there!)
It officially opens on December 6th.
I want to apologize for some offensive messages posted on this board under my name. The night 0f 12-15-08 I did not have internet access, and someone had used my name to post something offensive. My avatar was also changed. I dont' know what else was posted, or if anyone recieved bad PMs, but I want to apologize for that. I've changed my password, and even though I was not the one posting these messages it still needed to be corrected.
Just out of curiosity, why are you hoping for Michael Riedel to see the show?
Presumably what you are really saying is that you hope that he sees it, that he dislikes it and then that he starts a smear campaign to damage the show's chances in New York. What you seem to be saying, in every post, is that you are hoping that the show fails and yet you haven't even seen it. That hardly seems fair
It has to be said that naysayers like Michael Riedel and perhaps yourself "curtainpulldowner", contribute to people's decisions on whether or not to see a show and indeed perhaps to the shows success or failure. How is it good for the industry if a show fails? Is it good for the actors... the musicians... the stagehands, equipment vendors, scenic shops etc. etc. etc. The answer is NO.
The success of any show, be it a Disney product or not, is a GOOD thing for a business that, at best, is a hit and miss proposition.
By sitting on the sidelines, rubbing ones hands together, and hoping that something is a flop - so that you can say "I told you so" or otherwise, you are hurting the entire industry.
