Well I bought the CD today and just finished listening to the whole thing. First of all, I think that the cast sounds outstanding. Sierra, Sherie, Sean, Tituss, everyone just sounds great. Unfortunatly I found most of the new material to be forgettable. The only standouts among the new songs were I Want The Good Times Back and Her Voice. I thought She's in Love was bad. Brian D'Addario has a great voice, but the song is just not very memorable. I really feel sorry for Eddie Korbich, as he's stuck with one of the worst numbers in the show. Human Stuff wasn't too bad, but Positoovity was awful.
Sherie Rene Scott's Poor Unfortunate Souls was by no means bad, but it seemed to lack some "umpph" to it. I LOVED her on I Want The Good Times Back, she sounded fabulous. I thought Norm Lewis and Jonathan Freeman were severely underused. Norm Lewis got half of one number and 2 very short reprises for goodness sake!
I'm glad I'm not the only person who noticed the little musical bits from Beauty and The Beast. To me, the last few notes of Storm at Sea sounds like the climactic notes of The Wolf Chase . And I could certainly hear Be Our Guest during the Les Poissons reprise.
