I’m sure we’ll get a third from Andrew Rannells and I hope we get one from Donna Murphy or Kelli O’Hara. I could see Annaleigh doing a children’s book or a Tina Fey-style humor/memoir. I agree; Nathan and Audra would be great… but I would especially love a book from Laura Benanti. Didn’t she do a children’s book of some sort? Did we get one from Dame Angela? Sad, if not. On another composer front, can you imagine a tome or compendium of Alan Menken’s?

Barbra's was full of her fabricated "truths" and countless things that are documented and can be fact checked, she distorts to suit her story. She clearly knows her memoir is to be the Bible of her history from her lips but so many things just don't match up and she's left out so much from her early days. I stopped reading after page 75 and stopped listening to her audiobook after an hour. Also found out many others stopped reading and just lost interest on this memoir. It's now apparent that all these past biographies were accurate as she herself rehashes tons of stuff we already knew so she really isn't adding much. As a huge Streisand fan, I was enormously disappointed with her "memoir." I have zero interest in finishing it - either the book or the audiobook."
I would pay good money to hear JTF do a dramatic reading of your melodramatic post!"
JTF as in Junior Theatre Festival...?"
Actually, them too! But I was initially thinking of Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
Ahrens and Flaherty have occasionally mentioned writing a dual memoir about their collaboration, which I'd imagine would be something like Kander and Ebb's COLORED LIGHTS. Like that book, I don't think it'd be dishy and bitchy (which DON'T rhyme), but informative, fun and a little inspiring. So I hope that happens. Those are the kinds of memoirs I like. If LuPone writes another, I'd wait for it to joins the remainder bin (cyber or physical) before purchasing. Meantime, I'll wait for Streisand's to meet the same fate before I pick it up.
A Menken one might be interesting, but I think there are writers who are far more insightful and articulate about their work, and Lynn and Stephen fit that bill. (And who the hell are we kidding? Some Garth and SEUSSICAL dish would be fun.)

Hopefully someone who slept around and likes to talk.

I have the opposite takeaway. She claims to have a mall in her basement and says she probably slept with Warren Beatty. The joy of Streisand is everything she says sounds like a lie George Santos would make up about himself, but actually is true.
There will always be naysayers and professional complainers who feel left out when someone makes it big. I believe that Barbra believes these things to be true - and that should be enough for her faithful followers!

I thoroughly enjoyed Patti’s first memoir and would love another now that she has even less ****s to give.

I’ll be much more interested to read the chapters about Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on Broadway."
As would I!

I think that it's more likely that Barbra says what she knows is beneficial for her public image rather than that she's delusional
Frankly, I think it's perfectly alright to tell people what you know will go over well when you're an eighty year old superstar
It's just that I really would love to read the truth
Harvey Fierstein, people, I'm telling you
He has had every bit as rich and storied of a career and life as any other great Broadway star, and he's also a very personal and intimate writer so his stories are just like Patti's in that he does not give a ****
Harvey's memoir is simply wonderful. With all the heart and insight you'd expect from him.
Charles Busch's memoir is also pretty great. Very different in tone from Harvey's, but smart and also quite funny.
And of course, the Mary Rodgers memoir is one of the greatest things she, er, wrote, or dictated. Acerbic, smart, and witty,

I gotta read Mary Rodgers'! That's the next one on my list.I also am currently reading Charles Busch's. I think it'd be cool to see a memoir by Nathan Lane
I don't think he's written one
He's a bit like Harvey Fierstein, in that he's a brilliant actor who has a huge personality and also a pretty great librettist, even if he's had a whole lot less success as a librettist than Harvey Fierstein
