Guess it seemed like a good idea but problem was no one wanted to see it.

Was that the problem Roxy, or are you just making up things again?

Crap, I was hoping to catch this off Broadway since I didn't see it on Broadway.

Maybe they will tour it? I think it could work pretty well that way--short stints in many cities, small cast, simple sets. It could work. If it came to Ohio, we'd go see it again.

It is touring, I believe.

Michael Cohl must be getting sick of having to deal with all the crap that obviously misconceived commodity musicals come with.

I wonder if it would have been as bad as the Dusty Springfield jukeboxicalbio.

According to the statement, it is not canceled, only postponed indefinitely.

So it is canceled.
So it is canceled.

No, canceled would mean they have no intention of staging it and it's over.
Postponed indefinitely means they intend to do it in the future, but with the caveat that they don't have any idea when that might be.
You could say that this particular run is canceled, but that neglects to include that they aren't entirely abandoning the concept of staging this show Off-Broadway, just the one that was planned, rehearsed, and set to start previews tomorrow.
(I've been writing marketing copy for decades, always fun to create word salads like this, heh)

The venue they chose was all wrong. They need to keep it in the theatre district. Or maybe the Union Square theater at least. Maybe wait until the Tonys so the show can pick up some noms.

They gave away a LOT of tie die cupcakes for Janis' birthday back in January.
So sorry they're not going to start on April 10, I was looking forward to seeing it again. Much better than the Dusty show.

That is known as a sugar-coated cancellation.

Err... You mean like how I started the sentence you edited with "You could say that this particular run is canceled..."?

I wonder why this was canceled. I really don't know anything about this show, for people that have seen it, was it terrible?

I don't think it was terrible, people seemed to like it on Broadway.
I think the problem with this was, they didn't have a venue lined up once they closed at the Lyceum, and then took awhile before announcing one. If there were people who wanted to see it, they forgot about it. It lost momentum in the attempt to move.

The show was enjoyable, even though rock concerts are not my cup of tea. When was the last time a show was postponed indefinitely that later was staged? I can't come up with one...

Their first mistake was charging Broadway prices for an off-Broadway show. I don't care if it was on Broadway at one point, no one's paying $150 for something off-Broadway.

Exactly. Rebecca, anyone? I'm still hoping Tuck Everlasting makes it to Broadway.

It's not that this particular run is cancelled. It is that there is no more for this specific production in NYC. Ever.

I much preferred the Dusty Springfield show. The songs were better.
