Any word on who's been cast?
The Chicago run has been extended by two weeks due to popular demand.

Millie, yes: http://www.aarising.com/forums/showthread.php?28780-The-Phantom-Of-The-Opera-(Tour)-%96-Equity-Chorus-Call-Dancers-(NY)
Justin, it's cast, not casted.

Celia Hottenstein, who graduated from Boston Conservatory this year, will be first cover for Christine.
Maybe Kyle Barisch is leaving the Broadway company to lead as Raoul on tour?

"Edward Staudenmeyer will be one of the managers."
Ed will be Andre.

I think Kyle would make a great Phantom!
Most cities don't have tickets on sale yet except for subscriptions. I'm planning to follow the show to the first relatively close city where I can find it -- probably Philly. However, I'm worried about sellouts because of subscriptions. Boston seems to be almost loaded up already, and the tickets just went on sale to the public.

Plus, they recently changed the Boston dates. It was originally slated to be here for 5 weeks; now it's down to 4.

I would not be surprised if the Phantom is an actor who has already played it (maybe someone from London).

Posted: 8/23/13 at 12:10amI think it's time to put Anthony Crivello back in the role after he played it so successfully for the whole run in Las Vegas. However, because he's in his 50's, he runs counter to the new trend of younger Phantoms who have graduated from playing Raoul -- maybe that's why we haven't seen him since the production closed in Las Vegas.

Re: Crivello
Obviously, you didn't see Brent when he played the Phantom for the opening of the Vegas company. He was EONS better than Anthony, could enunciate properly and killed it with Boggess as his leading lady. Best combo in that show I've ever seen.
Crivello was phoning it in worse than the Broadway cast of Chicago for the last couple years he was doing the Vegas production. I could barely understand most of his singing and his high notes were a trainwreck.
He got lazy. He does NOT need another shot at the show.

Posted: 8/23/13 at 6:31amPTOPhan, were you thinking of Providence? Boston tickets aren't on sale to the general public yet since it isn't till June of next year. I was told they'd go on sale in the winter. I did look at Providence, and most of the seats I was looking at for weekends in the orchestra were scattered singles.

I saw him three times in Vegas and while he was entertaining, I will have to say NO NO NO NO NO. That performance (sorry) STAYED IN VEGAS.

I'm thinking they have finished ensemble casting or are in the process of finishing it up. One of my friends just announced on facebook that he will be going on tour with the show. Said friend started out in the Vegas production, then did a stint in New York, so I'd say it's legit and Equity.

Congrats to your friend! As for Equity, I posted a notice earlier in the thread.

It's also going out under a full Production Contract, so though it is indeed designed to load in and out easier than the Hal Prince production, we still won't be seeing split-weeks and one-nighters for a while.
Since so many of the venues it will end up going to will already have the pick points and rigging in place from the last tour it would almost make sense to re-instate the falling chandelier for the U.S. (I know it won't happen, but we can dream).

Posted: 8/30/13 at 11:41pmAEA AGMA SM, I'm with you on reinstating the falling chandelier. Frankly, it doesn't seem that hard to do, especially if you confine it to the stage. A Phantom production without a crashing chandelier is almost as bad as a "Sound of Music" without nuns!

Posted: 8/31/13 at 11:03pmI have it on good authority that the chandelier will be more impressive that the current UK production (including falling). Mackintosh admits that the shaking chandelier is rather underwhelming.
