I'm fine with the Lopezes - but I can't help wondering what Dave Malloy might have done with the piece. Maybe a tad too whimsical for him, but it would be interesting as hell!

I would bet money on Alex Brightman playing a bunch of the one-scene characters from the movie. Vizzini (inconceivable), Miracle Max, the preacher, the Albino, etc.

It’s a lot more exciting than a lot of workshops of new musicals imo.
But they also probably didn’t have auditions and just called in people they know who could be available for 29 hours this week and largely based it on the archetypes of the movie. So who knows if any would end up in the actual production.
