re: The Search for the Next Elle Woods: The Spoiler thread

From Autum's blog:

"hey... i just have a quick few seconds, but...
somehow i came off a little snotty in this episode and i am very sorry. in no way, shape or form do i think i am entitled to a leading role on a broadway. i have been very grateful for every step in my career and believe me.... i am the FIRST person to criticize my performances, and i know that there is a never ending list of improvements that i will continue to work on for myself. i am in no rush to be on broadway.... i know it will happen when it's supposed to. be it this show or something else in the future. i am so thankful for this opportunity and am once again so saddened and frustrated at how the editing makes it look as if our cranky outbursts are such prominent parts of the competition. it was actually an experience filled with love, admiration and respect for each other. there is a LOT of laughter edited out for "dramatic purpose". and i love the girls in the house... a lot of the frustration in my interviews came out of actual frustration ABOUT the interviews. those interviews are done way past our bedtimes and we are cranky and tired. again, just wanted to say i'm sorry that it looks like i was trying to discourage the girls or claim that i "deserve" a broadway role more than any of them. i absolutely DO NOT believe that and those comments were taken out of much more constructively toned conversations.
anyway.... good night... and thanks again and again for all the love and support!!!"

Bailey has been a bad copt of LBB throughout the show. Every performance of Bailey's is a cheap imitation of LBB when the show was aired on MTV. Wouldn't be surprised if she just studied every nuance of LBB's performance from the TV airing.

Bailey's performances reminds me of Reese Whitherspoon in the movie. That was the basis for the show, right? I just find her fun to watch all around.

Legally Blonde (LB & Bailey) * Hairspray * Spring Awakening * Rent * Little Mermaid * Wicked(BW & the tour) * Lion King * Chorus Line

It was nice of Autumn to post that.

Eh, I guess at this point I don't care who wins between her and Bailey. Lauren was the only contestant about whom I felt strongly.

^Ditto. I agree with EVERYTHING you have said ever in this thread, SporkGoddess. lol

If all the rumors are true about Lauren and Rihannon going to the tour, Bailey being Elle and Autumn being in Becky's track, then that's great for all of them. Lauren was/is my favorite though. She's only 18 and has so much potential.

re: The Search for the Next Elle Woods: The Spoiler thread

Perhaps I'm reading too much into her blog entry, which was very well written by the way, but...

When she says, i am in no rush to be on broadway.... i know it will happen when it's supposed to. be it this show or something else in the future. i am so thankful for this opportunity

those don't sound like the words of someone who will be playing Elle next week. Again, it's possible I'm reading into it too much, but that was my initial thought.

***
Regarding Bailey imitating LBB...Bailey has lots of problems (her more serious scenes need, well, serious work), however, I've never felt she was imitating LBB based on her auditions. I've just never gotten that vibe. If anything, the judges' comments (I think it actually has been the one intelligent thing Heather Hackjob has said) about her acting too much like a Disney princess are right on. Ultimately, however, if I had to choose between the two, I'd pick Bailey, only because I think there's a lot of potential there, and I still prefer her over the wildly inconsisten Autumn, who comes across as lacking in charm to me (save for that one audition that she knocked out of the park).

I wouldn't read into that at all. They are under an extremely STRICT confidentially agreement so I wouldn't read into anything. She is saying "this show or something else in the future" because she can't even remotely hint at anything, be it good or bad.

Autumn's interview is really adorable and it's making me like her more.

I just wish that her dancing were better and I also really want to see her in the wig.

re: The Search for the Next Elle Woods: The Spoiler thread

"Supposedly Bailey's friend wrote on Facebook that she can't wait to see her as Elle on Broadway.

So Lauren is Margot in the tour? Excellent! Wish I could see it."

She is the understudy for both Margot and Elle. This was taken from her Facebook status:

"Lauren will the be elle woods and margot understudy in that National Tour of Legally Blonde the Musical :)."

"So Autum doesn't win! Good! She wasn't Elle Woods to me but I think she is talented. Great that she is doing other things! So its Bailey! Yeah!!!! I really like her. How do you know Lauren is Margot on the tour? Where is it posted?"

THANK YOU! Someone who agrees with me! Autumn is INCREDIBLY talented, but Bailey is Elle. On Lauren's Facebook status it says "Lauren will the be elle woods and margot understudy in that National Tour of Legally Blonde the Musical :)."

"I think she would be a great swing in that show. I also think she'd make an adorable Chutney/Kate. I'm still hoping she got Elle though."

TOTALLY!

re: The Search for the Next Elle Woods: The Spoiler thread

I think what really frustrates me about Bailey is that she's fairly polished, she's competent with everything, but nothing she does is INTERESTING. She's a pretty, bland performer. I've just come across way too many of those kinds of performers. I'd so much rather see someone bring real emotional depth to role and do something interesting with it. Bailey only plays on the surface.

re: The Search for Elle Woods: The Spoiler thread

I wanna hear how Bailey sounds without her accent singing an entire musical number.

Also, I wouldn't want to see Autumn "faking" the 'legal jargen (sp?)' part of What You Want. How can you fake something on Broadway? All I see her doing is improvising. If she did win the part of Elle and that spotlight were on her doing the shuffle, I would be totally embarrassed! Trying to fake it in front of the entire audience. Get real!

Do you think MTV will film Legally Blonde while the winner ::cough:: ::cough:: Bailey ::cough:: ::cough:: is playing Elle? I would LOVE to see the show with the new Elle.

Also, I asked this earlier but, did anyone but me notice that the announcer said next week was the SEASON finale instead of the SERIES finale?

Sorry for all the questions.

re: The Search for Elle Woods: The Spoiler thread

If she couldn't do that tap combination by then after all those rehearsals, I would say that she is hopeless as a dancer.
