We have a rant thread. How about one expressing the noms that especially delighted us?
I'm delighted for Fun Home and An American in Paris, but I'm really pleased Sting was not forgotten

I feel like she probably won't win since Featured Actress in a Musical is so packed, but I am rooting for Sydney Lucas. She's so darn cute.

I'm happy Ruthie Ann Miles was recognized for The King and I as I think she gave the stand out performance of that show. I'm also happy about Ken Watanabe. For all the diction issues people claimed to hear I found his performance very warm and charming.

Very happy about all the love for Hand to God and Fun Home. I'm also pleased to see You Can't Take it With You remembered after being closed for several months, especially Annaleigh Ashford who was hysterical in a great ensemble.

The extraordinary Crowley in four categories; Lucas, a most impressive performance at any age; Sting's score, especially for a novice navigating his maiden journey into the world of musical theater; and Gattelli. Many are scratching their heads, believing he simply recreated Robbin's choreography. Not true. He adapted and reinvented it for that vast, unforgiving thrust space. Not as easy as it sounds.

I'm thrilled that Geneva Carr and Sarah Stiles were both recognized for the excellent performances they're giving in Hand to God.
While I don't see them winning, it's exciting that the choreography team for Curious Incident was recognized for the intensely precise and complicated movement that goes on that stage.
I'm pleased that Ruthie Ann Miles took the 4th spot in supporting actress. She shines as Lady Thiang.

"Very happy about all the love for Hand to God and Fun Home."
The only positive thing I can say about this list is that at least all the speculation has come to an end. Thank heavens. The carefully-aligned dominoes have fallen exactly according to plan. Now just let's have the damn awards presented already to your cherished junk, and then at least we can put this whole sorry chapter in theatre history behind us.
Until the next sorry one starts --- like in July!

SO glad they didn't pull a Next to Normal and nominate all of the family members except one in Fun Home!
Really excited for the awards this season, a lot of deserving shows!
(also glad that Honeymoon wasn't nominated...)

I was very pleased with the nominations overall with me being over the moon on THE KING AND I's 9 nominations. AN AMERICAN IN PARIS and FUN HOME deserve all the love they got.

Not that I was expecting anything less, but I'm just so thrilled about Kelli O'Hara's worthy sixth nomination!! I hope it's her year!!!
Nice to see Brian D'arcy James, Christian Borle, Victoria Clark and Ruthie Ann Miles as well!

I'm sad Side Show didn't get nominated, but this is the first time in years I'm not massively disappointed with the nominations. I'm so, so happy for Sydney Lucas. I entered the lottery tonight so I could try to be there and give her a well-deserved standing ovation after Ring of Keys, but I didn't win. Either way I am thrilled to death.
My fear is that all the fun home ladies are going to divide the votes and Victoria Clark will win, but from what I've heard about her performance that's probably not a bad thing.
And Annaleigh Ashford was the best thing about YCTIWY, but I'm really surprised she made it in.

Absolutely thrilled for Fun Home! Whoever said they were glad that they didn't pull a Next to Normal and nominate all but one family member is spot on! I truly think that Fun Home is the best show of the season in all aspects, so I really really hope they don't give the best musical award to a show with more commercial potential, like they did with Kinky Boots and Spamalot IMO.

"CURIOUS INCIDENT for choreography !"
^This. So refreshing and such amazing achievement for a play to be nominated in this category. It certainly did leave an impression on me.
I've raved enough about Fun Home since previews so I'm not goin...oh whatever.
FUN HOME ALL THE WAY.
