Leg room, yes. But not if some TALLLLLL person sits directly in front of you. That happened to me at LSOH--tiny daughter sat on his right, and this HUGEEE father sat in front of me. I was like ohhhh mannnnn.

Seeing a local show me and my (also very short) friend got stuck behind two tall men (hadda be at least 6'0). Lucky for us it was sit where you want and the men looked behind them and offered to trade seats. Unfortunately you cant do that on broadway, lol.

What surprised me when i saw assassins was the fact that the mezzanine seats were somehow more comfortable than the floor seats.(They really gotta change that around for Streetcar or else people will be dying for the 3 hour show!)

Yet, i was in the mezannine with a bag (i bought the poster and shirt) and i wasn't tooo terribly uncomfortable.

The Brooks Atkinson had a spruce up not too long ago. I actually think it is a very attractive interior and in much better shape than some Shubert houses.

Hmm, I think the Minskoff and Gershwin are pretty ugly, nothing to look at. But in terms of seating, the St. James was a nightmare. I'm 6'6, and my knees were more bruised than BWayGuy's after a Saturday night!

If Lincoln were alive today, do you think he'd be pleased with his tunnel?

The best experience I have had is at the Al Hirschfeld(sp?). I have been there 3 times and all three were great. My first time to see Kiss Me, Kate I was in the Center Mezz. about half way up. The seats were great. Then Man of La Mancha I was row a center mezz., I felt like I was in the show. Then I got front row to wonderful town. It was awesome. Lots of leg room good views!

Worst is Gershwin, I was on row W Center. The Mezz hung low and we couldn't see the head of the dragon on top of the stage. and it seemed a mile away.

I've seen both Cabaret and Assassins at Studio 54, and I sat in the front mezz. both times. I found it very comfortable, and I liked the little tables to the sides of the seats.

I thought Gershwin was the best. I also never had any bad seats when I went there.

The Nederlander has NO leg room at all!!!!!!! The Gershwin has a TON of leg room!!!!

The Nederlander has NO leg room at all!!!!!!! The Gershwin has a TON of leg room!!!! I was sitting orchestra at booth theatres.

Another tall person here - the Golden was almost impossible to get arranged in a normal seated position - fortunately, I loved AVE Q so much I didn't care.

Definitely Studio 54!!!

The mezz seats are/were fantastic but the chairs in the orchestra were a killer! The were ok-ish for Assassins (as they put some cushions on them) but oh my, I remember the good old Cabaret times.... and so does my bum!!!!

The rear mez of Studio 54 for Assasins was the worst for comfort. Never sat in front mez, but it looked allright, with the little table and cup holder on the side. I've spent much of my life sitting on bar stools, so I wouldn't complain about the orchestra either.
And I once made the mistake of wearing my bifocols in the balcony of the Shubert Theatre for Gypsy.

I saw POTO at the Majestic with a school sponsored bus trip and we had tickets in the "nosebleed section" aka the balcony. My God... I'm not afraid of heights but I was freaking out when we were walking to our seats. I seriously felt like I was going to trip, fall, and plummit to my death. Plus the leg room was horrendous. And it didn't help that the view from the balcony is pretty bad as well - it took me quite a while to get used to seeing pinpricks for people and finally get into the show. Plus the ushers were the nastiest I have ever met. Sure was an experience!

I sat in an aisle seat (row G left orchestra) of the St. James and was fine, but I had quite a bit more leg room obviously. I'll have to see when we go in August and sit center orchestra - my 6'3" father may have a bit of a problem I guess!

I would have to say i was most uncomfortable in the john golden theater, but i really didnt mind cause, well, it was Avenue Q.

But.. I have house seats for TBFO on wed, and a few of you have said how awful their seats are. House seats wont be that special if i am really uncomfortable. Are they really that bad?!

Mezz at The Shubert...like peeking through Venetian blinds.
As for the 6'6" folks....Suffer!!!!..You always sit in front of me.... How'd you giraffes like to spend 100 bucks to see the back of your big stupid heads all night?

Palace was the worst for me...I did student rush for Aida and it was horrible...next time i'm hoping for standing room.

the lyceum is a dump. also, the mezzanine at the music box has so little legroom i had to crisco my knees to get them to fit. ack!

best theatres for me thus far have been the marquis and the gershwin.

Best theatre for me was the Vivian Beaumont. I was such a fan of the pitched seating - the tallet person in the world could sit in front of you and you wouldn't have a problem. There wasn't a ton of leg room but compared to other theatres it was great! And I know some people have knocked the thrust stage, but when you have seats in the 500 section you're grateful.

When i said i like the lyceum i meant the seats where very roomy for an old broadway theatre(i believe its the oldest running. An armrest came off but i knew how to put it back in and the bathrooms are even older!(I doubt they've been remodeled while the seats are definitely from at least the 50s)

Also i forgot that the Marquis is awesome seats

The Lyceum, a dump??? Granted, I hate the purple seats, but I think the theatre itself is in lovely condition. The woodwork for the boxes and proscenium arch is really beautiful.
