The Marquis seats really hurt my back, although the view was great.

i hate the imperial theatre. i also thought that the virginia theatre wasn't that comfortable.

Although its not built to be a theater, Studio 54 in the current set up does murder on my back. Those chairs kill.

front row mez in the ford center. yeah i had to lean over so box thing that was hanging off the mez to see the full stage.

and can't complain about the imperial, but then when your watching hugh jackman dancing around on stage who could complain.

I loved the Gershwin. When we saw Wicked back in April it was the first time my ass didn't go completely numb during a show. There was tons of leg room and the seats were mighty comfy.

I've never been more uncomfortable at a show than I was at Studio 54 seeing Cabaret. Those wooden chairs killed my mother and I's backs. I actually couldn't wait for the show to end due to my discomfort.

The Shubert wasn't too bad when we saw Gypsy. Although I do remember wishing I had more leg room. I didn't know where to put my knees. And I'm only 5'11''

Imperial - sat in rear orch and rear mezz. didn't think it was that bad.

Palace - sat in rear orch, legroom awful but sightlines good. sat in last row mezz, possibly the worst seats ever. felt like i was miles away, and had to bend down to see full stage. during intermission, moved to third row mezz, very nice view.

New Amsterdam - good view in orch, but possibly the most uncomfortable seats ever. i'm a bigger guy, and i had no side or leg room at all.

Dodger Stages - got to sit during a tour, seats have amazing legroom, can't wait!

I've never had any real problems with the seating at the Shubert... then again, I was in the front row of the orchestra 99% of the time...

I know the last post is from 2004, but at least I didn't start a new thread (I know some of y'all would've thrown such a fit).

AUGUST WILSON THEATRE oh my god I don't think I've ever sat in a more uncomfortable seat. I had an incredible seat ROW C SEAT 104, but it was just sooo uncomfortable and narrow.

Even though I'm not a small guy, I never had a problem with the other theatres..I never had to worry about the size of the seat. The August Wilson Theatre is a crowded subway car, that's what it is.

Awww, I love the August Wilson. It's probably one of my 3 favorite Broadway theatres. I think that the worst by far is the Richard Rodgers.

The Nederlander just puts me too close for comfort with the person next to me. Not to mention it's an acrobatic feat to get into your seats if you're in the middle of an already full row.

Also, I know it's supposed to look shoddy to reflect Rent's mood and feel and what-not, but c'mon. Spackle some of the holes in the wall already. The ceiling just looks a hot mess and like it could crumble down on the audience at any minute.

Without question, Studio 54. It has NOTHING to recommend it, with the mezzanine being worst of all. I'll be SO THANKFUL when Roundabout stops using it and goes to the refurbished Henry Miller.

I don't know, I've sat rear mezzanine at Studio 54 three times and I didn't think it was that bad. You may have little leg room (especially if you're stuck in the middle of the row) but the view is pretty decent and doesn't feel like you're "miles away."

I just remember one time being at the Imperial in the orchestra and being next to a bunch of huge football players who could barely fit in their seats.

And then there's the Richard Rogers... Sitting in the rear orchestra for Tarzan may have been the worst theater experience of my life because of the overhang. And then they had the audacity to show what was happening on the rest of the stage through those little television screens.
