Having seen shows with Liotte, she is quite docile.
(Then again, maybe it was because Shoshana was singing. I mean, you DID get into LENNON after Julia, that sexy vixen, gave you that flower! )
Yes, right after she gave me that flower, wasn't that when intermission started? :)

see liotte, one of the reasons i didn't care (and still don't) is because it was something that wasn't meant to be offensive and only someone who is being overly sensetive would find it so. If i remember correctly, seinfeld didn't really have any sort of jewish backlash, in fact, it's become one of the most popular episodes. But then again, you don't have a sense of humor, so how could i expect you to possible be anything but offended.

ZONEACE - Seinfeld is Jewish...viewers know that. What made it funny is that the Soup Nazi was a Nazi...
Also, you are NOT Seinfeld. You are not AS funny as he is. You brought it up at the wrong time.
And Liotte - I don't remember. I was too pissed I didn't get one from her.

so wait, it's ok for Seinfeld to say nazi cause he's a jew?
is that like how its ok for black guys to say n*gger?
or women to say **** (thats c-unit, without the "i" in case it gets starred out)?
ETA: Last time i checked Hitler killed fags too. SO i have right to be offended as well. And while the number of homosexuals killed was not nearly as great as the number of jews (and I'm not in any way trying to dimmish those heinous murders) it doesn't give you some sort of special offense privalage.
BSO, but we both got those other big purple flowers they threw into the audience, so it's all good. I deserved that flower from Julia, considering you were the one who dragged me to the show.
And you're right ZONEACE, I don't have a sense of humor. Yet again proving that you know me so well. If you didn't mean it to be offensive, you could have said you were referencing something that I didn't know about and apologized. But alas, that is below you since you "couldn't care less" and continue to offend people. I encourage you to keep going, I'd love to see you alienate yourself from the board.

Yes, and no.
I'm not saying you aren't ALLOWED to say it.
But you and Liotte were having a debate - are arguing. You were making fun of her theatre habits (or other people were).
It came off as an insult, not as a joke. And you can't really justify it as a joke now, can you? 'Cause if you need to explain you were only joking, you do feel bad for offending her.
Hmmmmmmm when did this become about minorities?
I know what it's liked to be attacked on THIS board...its not the prettiest thing.

Emo, it's not, and it never was, it was probably a poor choice in analogy, but, really, this thread was already running rampant with poor analogies long before that one.
ETA: had i known the reference would have been one you didn't understand, i wouldn't have used it. But I won't apologize for it because it wasn't meant to be offensive. But you know that, and so does BSo, and everyone else..
It's true I was just saying what I observed ^__^.
"ETA: had i known the reference would have been one you didn't understand, i wouldn't have used it. But I won't apologize for it because it wasn't meant to be offensive. But you know that, and so does BSo, and everyone else.."
If you don't know the person to whom you are talking, you should try to avoid using any kind of reference to anything, unless you know 100% it is something they would understand. Just speaking in a straightforward manner would be best so you don't risk offending them. But of course, you could care less anyway if you offended me or anyone else.

liotte, excuse me for referenceing something that 90% of americans with a tv would understand.
you seem to be the ONLY person in this thread that didn't understand it.
Broadway Legend Joined: 12/8/04
Again. I did underdtand it. And I'm sure others did.
No one really found it funny.
Broadway Legend Joined: 5/10/05
yes BSo, and I understand that, what i don't understand, is why we can't move on from the fact that I made an unfunny joke that one person didn't understand and that one person (along with a few others, inexplicably) took great offense to.
As i said, I have just as much of a right to be offended, but obviously, I'm not.

Why, exactly, should you be offended?
Broadway Legend Joined: 5/10/05
gays, hitler, they didnt mix, just like jews and hitler, and gypsies and hitler.
I've stated, now i believe 3 times, that while the number was greatly, vastly smaller, Homosexuals were also killed by the nazis. So, as a homosexual, i have a right to be offended.
ETA: when this thread gets deleted its gonna be a real downer.

But...YOU made the nazi joke...
SO...you offended yourself? That's just stupidity...
It takes an evil person to offend others. It takes a stupid person to offend himself.
Not that I'm calling you stupid. I'm sure you are quite bright. But the posts read for themselves...
Yes, but no one else is making jokes or even commenting on the fact that homosexuals were also killed by Hitler. You are the one who brought it up. And I don't think you can offend yourself. And if you did, I bet you couldn't care less.
And I don't think you have factual evidence to back up that "excuse me for referenceing something that 90% of americans with a tv would understand."

No BSo, i didn't offend myself. I pointed out that you don't some sort of superior claim to be offended by a nazi joke. I have just as much of a right to find a nazi joke offensive, i just choice not to find them so.
BS0BW2 ~ I know we've had our "miscommunications" before but you are communicating quite nicely tonight.
As immature as it was, it was before the show started...nothing to get too concerned about.
ZONEACE, if you were offended by a Matthew Shepard joke, would you want an apology?
Or are you going to claim this is a ******** analogy as well and refuse to give a legitimate answer?
Broadway Legend Joined: 5/10/05
would I want one? yeah, would I expect one, NO! Would i think i deserved? No. Especially if the person didn't know i was gay. Would i ask for one, probably not. would I be offended by a matthew shepard joke? Having not heard any, i can't make the judgement based on fact, but it's unlikely.
I'm more likely to make a matthew shepard joke than anyone I know? yeah. But then again, i call my brazilian, gypsy friend of Jewish and romanian decent that is paler than me (a british isles mutt) brown.

Thanks Popular.
ZONE - are you actually saying I claim some sort of superiority of Nazi jokes? As if I enjoy Nazi jokes?
And I see you edited - "As a homosexual I have the right to be offended"
I see you saw your mistake. YOU made the "joke." So, I understand you have every right to be offended. But, in case you missed it, when the word Nazi pops up, most people think of the Jews.
And the fact that you were fighting with Liotte, who is Jewish, then called her a Joy Nazi...it didn't come across as a joke (forget that Liotte didn't understand it).
Maybe a wink emoticon would have helped. Nevertheless, don't throw those terms around, especially on an anonymous message board.
What I find funny is there is a movie about Hitler and the nazi movement called The Wave.
