Telecharge was always a lot more pleasent to deal with than ticketmaster. Even, before the online days I remember ordering tickets through telecharge by phone and always speaking to a Broadway theater savy knowledgeable individual from New York City. Whereas, when I would phone ticketmaster I would always reach some hick from Kansas who did't even have the first clue about Broadway or the Broadway shows they were selling. All these years later I always order tickets through telecharge.com online and never have any problems. Very simple and user friendly. When I have to purchase tickets to a show at a Nederlander theater I always sigh in pain cause it's never easy and user friendly. Most times they end up not being able to process my order online cause they are asking for a security code on my credit card and it's never the numbers that I give them. As a result, I end up having to call ticketmaster and having to deal with that hick from osh kosh to process my order. I find this extremely frustrating!!! I wish and hope that the nederlander theaters would go through telecharge as well. It would certainly make my ticket buying experience alot more fast, pleasent and efficient.
Any one else on here feel the same way???

Nope. Never had any real issues. I would suggest the problem with your security code might be with your card and not TM. (And I guess that most of the 'hicks' spell better than do you.)

I've actually enjoyed purchasing through Ticketmaster. Never had a problem. And now they have the choose your own seats function, that I believe Telecharge is trying, but I haven't been able to get working yet.
I've also found that I find Ticketmaster easier to read.

Posted: 4/28/12 at 4:15pmI feel exactly the opposite way - I far prefer Ticketmaster over Telecharge. Hello? It is 2012, and even the smallest of regional theatres in my "hick" town (well, okay, it's Toronto, but still) allow seat selection in their online websites. How can Telecharge still not figure out how to let us choose our own seats? Their software's idea of "best available" is laughable. I cringe whenever I have to use telecharge rather than ticketmaster to buy seats online.

Posted: 4/28/12 at 4:21pmI used to hate Ticketmaster, but now that they have the choose your own seat option, I gretly prefer them. Both ticketmaster and telecharge charge the same (ridiculous) fees, so that's never an issue.

I think ticketmaster has gotten better. I think their code thingy to prove you are a real person is a bit hard to read still, but I like being able to choose my seats.
And in all honesty, these "hicks" you are dealing with on the phone have to sell tickets to so many different events, that they probably don't get a chance to be extremely knowledgeable on everything they sell for. Plus, they just sell tickets. Someone probably just puts what is given to them by the producers on the website.

I feel sorry for them for having to deal with you.

Unfortunately, everyone can't do this and we are all at mercy of ticket agencies. I don't expect people selling tickets to events to be "savy" about the events they are selling for but it is nice when they are knowledgeable and helpful.

Posted: 4/28/12 at 5:35pmI work at a theatre this is partnered with Ticketmaster. It is helpful for people to be able to look at a seating chart with exact availability. A lot of people will go on Ticketmaster and find seats, then come down or call in to avoid the fees. Telecharge needs to get with the times and get some interactive seat maps ASAP!

Posted: 4/28/12 at 5:55pmI'm so glad that I live in New York and can get my tickets directly from the box office--no service charges, either!

Posted: 4/28/12 at 6:12pmWhat is the point of this post? You don't know the security code on your own credit card? Seriously? And if you feel that Ticketmaster's agents don't know squat about Broadway shows, then research them yourself before you purchase them ... there is plenty of information out there on this new-fangled thing called the internet.

Posted: 4/29/12 at 10:47amI'll echo the sentiment about Telecharge not allowing you to pick your seats. My favorite is going through about 15 attempts at the "best available" with them offering things like last row orchestra, side section or front row, extreme side. Then I go back and instead of "best available" enter for front mezzanine and find a seat right in the center of the front row of mezzanine. Who in the world would find the back corner seat of the orchestra a "best available" over center front row mezzanine?

Posted: 4/29/12 at 11:47amIf I have to order on the phone for a theater like the Beacon in NYC with Ticketmaster I print out the seating chart if I can find it and ask for specific areas of the house with the person on the phone. Years ago the Ticketmaster help on the phone was dreadful but now when I get a person on the line they have been more than helpful. But I prefer to pick my own seats if I can.

Posted: 4/29/12 at 2:28pmI've loved Ticketmaster since they started letting you choose your own seats. Telecharge's idea of "Best Available" isn't always what I prefer. And I think they hold back way too many seats, too. I just tried to find a Leap of Faith ticket for a month out and they told me Row H was the closest available, which I highly doubt.
