Time to support Rosie!

Ok... I am going to weigh in here and probably get b*tched at but since everyone else seems to be all like, Freedom of Speech, I feel I have every right here as well.

Rosie, is out of control. She thinks she can give her opinion anywhere she wants and is extremely outspoken. She has no right to say HALF the things she does. May I remind people that there is a freedom to speech granted to us by the first amendment but your rights end where others begin, otherwise there would be no such thing as sexual harrassment.

And it isn't even that she made fun of him and did it in a comedic way, because it started off ok, but she continues on and on with things and doesn't know when to stop. Not to mention, she did say things about Trump that were not true. I hope he sues her and wins because she truly needs to be stopped. She has lost so many fans because of her big mouth. It isn't like this is the first time she has done something like this. May I open up the Tom Sellick file. She invites him on her show to promote something or other and then tears him apart over his involvement in the NRA because she is "gung-ho" about gun control when her own bodyguards carry guns! Hypocrite, uh yea! She also has insulted Bill O'Reilly and the list just goes on and on. There is no denying she has done good things for Broadway and charities, but the woman needs to stop using her celebrity to open her big mouth with her misinformed opinion.

I say, Go Trump! Rosie needs to learn when enough is enough.

PS... this youtube link is from CNN,and it gives both Rosie's opinions and Donald's. Watch THIS one before weighing in further.

O'Reilly defended her? WOW! Wish I'd seen it...

I never said Trump was a great guy, he is a royal pest too, but I am sick of Rosie and her loud mouth. I think she is funny but she needs to stay out of politics and not feel the need to share her controversial opinions to the entire TV-watching world.

I hate to say it, b/c I'm not a fan of either of them, but Rosie has gone a little too far with this one...with alot of guests actually, but none of them have made such a big deal of her insults as Trump has...yes she's a comedian and I absolutely love the fact that she's constantly bringing new Broadway shows on the View, but I'm with Trump on this one.

(p.s. I think everyone should boycott The Apprentice whether you're with Trump or not...come on, the show's garbage)

They're both being very juvenile about the whole thing. The moment they started including personal insults into their arguments, I lost all respect. That's a surefire way to screw yourself over in an argument. It's just turned into a big hair pulling war between two hard-headed pseudo-famous people.

Isn't the whole point of the "Hot Topics" segment of The View for the hosts to comment on current events? The idea is for them to express their views. Rosie didn't do anything differently than every other talk show host does. As someone mentioned previously, she's a comedian. Would there be such an uproar if Jay Leno had said the same things in his opening monologue on The Tonight Show?

Personally I'm not a fan of either Rosie or The Donald. I think Rosie's arrival on The View resulted in that show becoming as low-brow as possible. (I was only happy about her coming in the hopes that it meant more Broadway show appearances.)

Now - just think about this. Martha Stewart's daily show was tanking until The Donald criticized her management abilities and the lack of quality on her second show. A major blow-up resulted with Martha responding on her daily show and The Donald appearing on a dozen talk shows to spout his views. The result? With all the extra publicity Martha's daily ratings zoomed back up. By the way, Martha and The Donald are also old friends.

Now here we are again. The ratings for The View have tanked since Meredith left and Rosie arrived. Now who's started another public row with a View castmember? The one and only Mr. T. And who's show is it? Another old friend.

Coincidence? Not in my book.

I could understand if Donald Trump was refuting what Rosie said, but he did so in an extremely childlike and unprofessional way. Please, to continually call her a loser, etc. By the way, her first talk show did not fail (as he claims it did). She left on her own terms.

On that note, I'm not condoning what she did either.

Since Rosie has been on The View, she has...

1) Accused Kelly Ripa of being homophobic
2) insulted Chinese people
3) gotten into this pissing contest with Donald Trump

I'm not saying Trump is innocent in all of this, because he isn't. In fact, the two of them both need to do the same thing: shut their damn mouths FOR ONCE.

Honestly, if Rosie thought she wasn't going to p*ss DT off, she's off her rocker. I can understand her not liking the Miss USA pageant and not approving of DT's handling of the current controversy, but many of her statements seemed intended to inflame Donald. That being said, Donald's statements have been just uncalled for: "I feel sorry for her partner . . . . can you imagine having to kiss that thing?" That's downright childish and hateful.

Actually viewership has increased by "27% over its year-ago Nielsen numbers." according to Variety.

I am not a huge fan of either Trump or Rosie. However, I have watched The View more this season than I have since it first came on the air. Rosie does tend to go a bit far at times. I, as a gay man, did not care for her being a "spokesperson" for the gay community over the gay marriage issue. (And I know A LOT of people who feel the same). At that time she was going through the whole courtroom drama over her show and Taboo was opening on B'way with Boy George running around in that ridiculous make-up. She was not a media darling at that point! I think she was wrong to accuse Ms. Rippa of homophobia. Did anyone catch on that Kelly said nothing negative towards gays? It was Rosie who brought it up and then said she is good friends with Clay and they talk frequently. This said to me that she most likely knows about his sexuality and pretty much outed him with this incident without even thinking. As far as this Trump incident, I do have to side with Rosie. For one, I am sure there are rules that the pageant has for the contestants and I am sure underage drinking is not something they condone. It ticks me off that we see all of these underage celebs. running around drunk and all we see happening to them is that they go to rehab and get the lead story on every entertainment and talk show. If any of us were caught drinking underage by authorities, we would be in trouble. Miss USA should have had that crown taken from her. She broke the rules, period. Just makes you think back to Vanessa Williams. They had no problem taking her crown away. Mr. Trump should have followed suit. And what good is Miss. USA going to do while in rehab? His statements about Rosie were quite rude and childlike. The remarks Rosie made about him were all true. (At least to my knowledge. I do seem to remember hearing about him being bankrupt at one point) Here is a man who gets married to some hot young woman every few years, fathers a child with them and he talks about morals? Never liked him. I applaud Rosie's work with the arts and her work with kids. She has brought a much needed spark to "The View" and I just hope she doesn't go too far with it. After all, as mentioned, the "Hot Topic" segment is to allow the hosts to express their views. In the past, I have heard those women say some pretty "controversial" things. I think that because of the media frenzy over Star Jones leaving and Rosie stepping in, the media is paying more attention to the show waiting for Rosie to act up. Actually, for the most part, I don't find her to be any more out of line with her comments than the ladies have been over the past 10 years. Again, I am not the biggest Rosie fan, but I won't put her down when I think she is right. And in Mr. Trump's case...well sometimes the truth hurts!

"I think she is funny but she needs to stay out of politics and not feel the need to share her controversial opinions to the entire TV-watching world."

I find this opinion deplorable. She's on a show called THE VIEW and is asked to discuss politics and controversy on that show.

And I'm really sick of hearing people say that artists, including comedians, should not be political or controversial. THAT is one of the most ignorant opinions to hold about art. It IS an artist's and especially a comedian's job to comment on these kinds of things.
