Does anyone know of the songs they cut in previews of Titanic?
I know one was song by the second class girl (Not Alice) in act one.
The other was sung by the millionaires at the end of act two.
Thanks!

The coffee table book talks a bit about the cut songs. The director, Richard Jones, actually thought the millionaires song was the best song Yeston wrote for the score. The millionaires song was called "Behind Every Fortune."
Caroline and Charles had three different songs - none of which made it to opening night. The first was called "I Give You My Hand." That was replaced with "I Will Love You," and later a song called "Social Class."

Posted: 6/22/13 at 1:37amI wish Caroline & Charles still had a song. I know the show is a bit crammed as it is, but I've always enjoyed those characters.

"Second class always seems to get the shaft in Titanic stories, doesn't it?"
Yes, second class is totally the Jan Brady of Titanic

Too bad the cut songs were not on the cast album. This could be said for most cast albums
There was also a song about being told the ship was sinking & people being in pyjamas Sorry I do not know more than that,.

In the opposite direction, here is the song that was ADDED to the Germany company of Titanic titled, "3 Days". It comes directly after Barrett has helped the 3 Kate's and Jim find a possible way out. As Barrett leads 2 of the Kate's away, Jim and Kate #1 share a moment. They sing about how they have fallen in love with each other only after 3 days.

Is it true that "We'll meet tomorrow" was a solo in previews?

I would love if they made a recording of the West End production of the show, that was retooled for a chamber sized cast.

I caught the Friday 4/4/97 preview and just about evey cut number mentioned in this thread could have been in it at that time. Need to dig out the playbill and check.
And then about those technical kinks they had yet to solve... sn*s from the audience galore...
