How coincidental that this 42nd Street opening be overshadowed, as the OBP'S was when Gower Champion died the afternoon of the opening night and David Merrick informed the audience and the cast of his death with a dramatic curtain call announcement.

Actually it is a serious subject and very sad if indeed it is proven that he violated another person....    But dang...  have to wonder if he is some kind of Trump supporter - - "grabbing her by the P...y."

He pleaded 'not guilty' to both charges - the drug charge and the sexual assault charge. He did admit he 'flirts' with women and likes to be friendly with his costars, but has never done anything which is considered sexual assault. He was freed on $1,000 bail.

Actually, he admitted to the police that the cocaine was just a small portion of a larger amount he keeps at home in a "sandwich hefty bag".

It is. She was well reviewed in the Boston Globe for the role.

 

And I happened to be next to Wopat at a sports bar in West Village a few years back -- we were each rooting for our teams on adjacent TVs.  He was very nice, it may have helped that I didn't let him know I knew who he was, it was just football.

York has performed with Reagle quite often. I saw her in their Into the Woods a few years ago. 

Their stuff isn't Broadway worthy,  but it's quite good. But, from what I've seen, very straightforward and expected.

Wopat 'firmly denies' the allegations of groping a female member of the company, and looks like he has his lawyers working on this to 'restore his good name'.

Lol.  I've done Reagle Players.  I didn't know that that was the show he was arrested during.  I understand why he was doing the toot toot then.  Def not making excuses for him, but the theatre company praises the NY actors that they pay to do their shows to the point of humiliating the local people they cast and tell them that they're lucky to be working with professional actors.  Just saying that the atmosphere is like one in the church where the Priest can do no wrong.  On a creative level...who am I kidding, there is nothing creative about them.  Everything has to be done "just like it was on Broadway".
