Okay from what I've heard Mrs. Braxton was Belle in "Beauty and The Beast".........how did they do this show for her to me her voice is heavy they would have to alot of things differently. I heard the changed the costumes as well.
Does anyone have any pictures of this?
I also heard the guy from "Designing Women" was Lumiere..which seem like it would work

i heard her Belle and her HOME was actually quite good... and the song added for her, A CHANGE IN ME, i thought she pretty much owned that song and sang it beautifully....
Sounds like a bad April Fool's joke doesn't it? Here's a quicktime video clip:

She sounded pretty good in that clip.
Maybe Im biased cause I love A Change In Me.
I think the Belle that sounds like a joke is Debbie Gibson.
No, Gibson in "Funny Girl" is a joke.
I could barely understand one word she was saying in that clip.
She looks AMAZING but .....Her voice is deep.
I would like to see more ethnic Belles.
she was the best Aida i have ever seen.
Like her or not. The woman is talented. She has a fabulous voice.

Yeah she is great.
Deborah is a brilliant singer too, in my opinion, although I wasn't a fan of her broadway album. A little too much broadway-esque vocal inflections, too little emotion.
Ethnic? You mean like non-American?
As for Gibson...she's actually got a better voice for showtunes than she does for Pop.
Oh...so THAT'S why "A Change In Me" is in the show.
I mean like
African-American, Asian, Indian....every race
except white
I don't think it's considered PC to call African American's ethnic...I mean, they are Americans. If that's the case, being Italian, I must be Ethnic, too.
she is amazing

I actually saw her in the show, and she did a really good job from what I remember.
Whoe.....I didnt mean to start anything but I'm African-American so please don't start with me with that, you know what I mean anyway........so don't come with that.
Oh boy. Can I buy some diction, please? I know the song, so I know what part of the song she was singing, but I've never heard "A Change in Me" so.. under-pronounced... in my life.

The clip is a little R&B and less Musical Theatre to me..but she still sounds good
and she looks gorgeous in that pic above!!my goodness
well, I'm glad she did the show because if she hadn't then they probably never would have added "A Change In Me" which ended up being one of my favorite songs...
Wouldn't Toni be great as Mabel in Pirates of Penzance? Hehe.
a change in me is such a fantastic song...
