There's a thread open for best musical predictions, but I figured that there should be a consolidated one for all categories. Now that the shows are (almost) all open, who/what do we think will be taking nominations?

I think Sutton Foster and Patti LuPone will get nominated for showing up. I think Sutton has a good chance of winning this time.

There are 5 slots for acting categories, but only 4 for Best Director and Choreographer (and pretty much everything else).
And there are about half a dozen misspelled names.
The People in the Picture has not had one performance yet, but you've got it nominated for Best Musical. How so?
Also, there's not a snowball's chance that anyone other than Patina Miller is winning Best Actress in a Musical.

adam, I wouldn't necessarily count out Sutton or Donna until the reviews come out on them. But, at this point, I would agree that Patina has an extremely solid (and seemingly very deserved) shot at the award.

I just want Tony Sheldon to win Actor. I know Book of Mormon will most likely sweep everything else.

Speaking of Sheldon, is there a chance he could end up in Featured? I think that a case could be made for his placement in either category, but he would probably be guaranteed a win in Featured, whereas he'd have more competition in Leading. Personally, I would like him to win anywhere, because I loved his performance way more than I expected.
I can't see Janet Dacal getting nominated...isn't BABY IT'S YOU supposed to be pretty bad? I wonder if Beth Leavel will be able to get in or if she'll be snubbed. Then again, I can't imagine them nominating Sherie Rene Scott either.
I'm really curious about how the Lead Actress category will turn out. I wonder if indeed Patina Miller is going to win, or if Murphy or Sutton Foster pose a threat.

I REALLY hope they don't bump him down. The man is the star of Priscilla and to have performed it over the last 5 years and then to be considered a featured actor would be a real slap in the face.

Theatrefan4, I don't necessarily agree. I think it'll be interesting to see where the committee places him, but Swenson gets the last bow and the story really is about Tick. Sheldon's performance is certainly the best in the show, and very deserving to win either place, but I worry that if he's placed in leading, he'll be easier to ignore because he isn't clearly the lead, and that'd be a shame. I don't think featured is a slap in the face, by any stretch. Especially since a win in featured is better than a loss in lead, isn't it?

The People in the Picture has not had one performance yet, but you've already decided Donna Murphy has no chance at winning a Tony. How so?

I just don't know. It's up to the producers where he goes and for all the other productions of Priscilla he's been considered leading come Award time.

If that is indeed the case, I will have my fingers crossed for him winning there, but I fear that Harry Potter is going to win it instead...

Oh dear Lord, do y'all really think that Janet from Wonderland is even gonna be nominated? She was awful!!
My fingers are crossed for Tony Sheldon and Rory O'Malley! I think Mormon is gonna sweep, aside from costumes.

Priscilla is a better Musical than Sister Act.
Other than that.. I agree with the predictions.
Really, Sutton?
Is it just me, or does anyone else think Laura Benanti should be handed the award for Featured Actress after seeing the other potential nominees?
Edit: I also think Erma, I think it's Jessica Stone, should be nominated over a lot of the other people mentioned for that category.

BEST MUSICAL
The Book of Mormon
Catch Me if you Can
Sister Act
The forth spot is up for grabs with the exclusion of Wonderland.
BEST PLAY
Bengal Tiger
Good People
Jerusalem
War Horse
And theatrefan4 the producer don't place actors in categories it's the tony's eligibility committee. The rule of thumb is above the marquee is lead and everyone else is featured.

Which is a choice of the producers and can also be overridden by the producers petitioning the Tony committee. They tend to be pushovers on that front.
My guesses :)

I agree with Just_John. Jessica Stone deserves a featured actress nominee at least. She was fabulous.
I think people assume that Book of Mormon will get a clean sweep like The Producers did in 2001, although both shows are excellent and Book of Mormon is certainly worthy of many Tonys, The Producers had very little competition in 2001.
