Has anybody seen him in it yet? I have tickets for March and am wondering if my experience will be significantly diminished for not seeing JBH. FYI I wasn't crazy about Goldwyn's performance in Network.

I saw Hickey do Part 1, but Wilcox doesnt have a ton to do and/or Hickey didnt make much of a mark. I saw Part 2 tonight and I thought Goldwyn was outstanding. I also found him boring in Network (though I thought the whole play was awful) but he incredible here. IdinaBellFoster, did you notice him fall off the platform towards the end? I thought he hurt himself but he looked fine for curtain call.
I was expecting not to like Part 2 given the reviews/comments here, but I was pleasantly surprised. Lopez tells a great story, but this play should either be a long three act OR four separate plays. So much gets left on the cutting room floor about these characters, and all the busy scenes fail. It feels like Lopez was rushing to ram it all together by the end of the semester and so many things (Eric's suddenly willing to trade sex for a nice suit?) fall flat.
But man can this dude write a monologue/dialogue tight and fresh. Lois Smith runs with the gift of script she is given. And once again I was completely blown away by Andrew Burnap, who feels necessary to this cast like none of the others do. What a performance.

I saw both parts today. No matter how incredibly slow or long you may think part one is, it improves in part two and his role in part two is larger so don't skip part two. After the show he was so charismatic and took pictures with people. Oh, they said he doesn't come out to sign stuff after the 1pm show. Only the evening show. Everyone else came out to sign after both shows.

I'm also not sure how much of a draw he is (though the audience seemed quite excited)... but... it wouldn't take much money or effort to swap out a digital photo for their online marketing... or even altering their own website.

I think he's a draw mostly from Scandal, his stage work has been good but nothing to write home about.

I'm reading the London script now, after seeing the show on Broadway. There's a joke I didn't recall about "Ben Platt, Lucas Hedges and Timothee Chalamet" passing on Adam's role before he was cast.
Several critics have commented this show belongs on Netflix. Rather than make a new thread, I thought I'd ask the board here: If this show was made into a mini-series who would be your dream cast? Would you keep Tony Goldwyn? Would you want to see some of the high profile folks from the Boys in the Band revival? (Matt Bomer, Jim Parsons, Zach Quinto, Andrew Rannells, etc.). Could the film be made with mostly unknowns if there was a star in a key role?
