FROZEN is doing something that will probably feature Young Anna and Elsa (or some portion of Do You Wanna Build a Snowman) based on at least one set piece being built for the broadcast

Agree! Just pick one performer and let him or her do a great number. Cutting and pasting songs is usually awful.

She typically does a medley. Rain in Spain into I Could Have Danced into Get Me To The Church would make sense (from a narrative and "selling" perspective).

The Tony Awards FB page has said that in addition to the performances by the 4 nominated Best Musical shows and the 3 revivals, Summer will have a performance. There will also be a special performance from last year's Best Musical winner Dear Evan Hansen (gotta get those ratings up!).

Why have another performance from Dear Evan Hansen? Why???

If they are going to let a show from last season perform, it should be a proper performance from Hello, Dolly instead.

I feel like Mean Girls will want to show as much Taylor as possible. My guess would personally be an abbreviated version of Fearless and then the Someone Gets Hurt reprise. I’m certain that 80% or more of people watching the Tonys already know the plot of the movie, so while those two songs are very key to the plot, there isn’t the concern of spoilers that other shows are having to face.

I know it won't happen, but I would love Mean GIrls to do a medley of Where do you Belong?, What's Wrong with me?, and World Burn as the finale

Barrett WW just posted their rehearsals on her instagram story. It's Where Do You Belong, but maybe they'll transition into Meet the Plastics.

In her story you can see Ashley Park getting mic'd up, and Kate Rockwell sitting at a lunch table, so probably!

Another Dear Evan Hansen performance? :/ Is it going to be a thing where they perform at the start of the ceremony to commemorate last year's Best Musical winner?

What do folks think Evan Hansen will perform? Last year they performed "Waving Through a Window" on the Tony's, "For Forever" on Colbert, and "You Will Be Found" at multiple events. 

I'm guessing the replacement cast will sing "You Will Be Found" to get them all on screen, but I'd rather see a character number like "Sincerely Me" or "Good for You."

(I suppose there's no hope at this point of a scene from "Harry Potter." Pity.)

So I just looked at the Instagram story for Once On This Island and they were at a "Tony Recording session." I know that performances on things like the Macy's parade are pre-recorded but... the Tony Awards? I never thought that the performances were canned before. Do they can the ensemble part and the principle players are live? Either way, looks like the full company was there for the recording.

As far as I know, some of the background vocals are pre-recorded to act like filler vocals, and the lead vocals are live. The full company might be there to add background vocals. I'm not sure though and would love it if someone could correct me on that.

The ensemble, orchestra, and sometimes even tap dance are canned. Only the leads sing the performances live. In some cases, if a show has just one person with a handheld mic, that's the only live sound coming from the stage.

Aside from expense, trying to coordinate mic frequencies for hundreds of performers is a logistical nightmare

Or "First Time in Forever" would be the other one. I am gonna be disappointed if they do "Let It Go" as really, it's been just done to death.
