I was at Kinky Boots. Obviously, great night to have tickets..audience was extremely supportive and applause was deafening at times. The actors had to wait to continue the scenes here and there. You could tell everyone (actors - audience both) appreciated it was their first post-show. I was with someone who was seeing it for the first time..she had a great time and was thrilled about the date we were there.
Jerry Mitchell was there and he gave a little mini thank you speech at the end, thanking all the stage hands, tech people and orchestra - people that don't get normally thanked...as well as the cast. I think everyone was very appreciative of being in the position they were in...after many worked on this show for over two years.
Cindy has been often at the theater but she is out of town doing some promotion for something.
It was funny = Billy had to sit down during the speech - I guess the heels got to him and his feet were hurting. Everyone laughed.
There was a short talk back after the show..Stark, Marcus (the foreman at the factory), Dan who plays Don, the kids, a few of the factory women, the stage manager came out. They stayed for maybe 15 minutes.
That's about it.

Cindy is touring. She plays the Greek here in Los Angeles this Thursday.
God, I'd love to have been at KINKY BOOTS tonight!
For what it's worth, I finally saw LUCKY GUY this evening and Hanks (very graciously) stepped back after his last bow and gestured to give Courtney B. Vance a moment for a solo bow. Mr. Vance waved Hanks off, but certainly got a roar of applause from the audience. It was a sweet moment!

Yes you are right. She is touring but I believe she spent a day or two doing something for Kinky Boots first before LA.

Cyndi was definitely in Vegas today, I believe there was some sort of presentation for future tours and since Kinky Boots just announced their tour today, she was probably doing something for that.
I was at Pippin tonight and the audience was just electric. From the very beginning, the reception after each song was uproarious. Patina got quite a bit of entrance applause, a bit more than I've seen her get in the past. "Magic to Do" got a very warm reception with entrance applause for each actor during the song-even Erik Altemus got some! "No Time at All," of course, got a huge reaction from the audience. Andrea had to take a long pause before she sang the last chorus to Pippin because the audience just wouldn't stop cheering. I can't speak for the mezzanine, but at the end of the song, there was a partial standing ovation in the orchestra.
It was a really thrilling night. Ashton Woerz was on for Theo for, I believe, the third time, and he was just adorable. He's very small and plays the role a bit sweeter than Andrew does.

Yeah that worked out really well, didn't it? LOL I mean I knew it was the fist day back after the Tony's and I figured it would be a good day to be there regardless. It would be filled with a lot of emotion no matter which way it turned out (and it would be a day that no main actor would have been out). I was not overly confident but I did feel they would win. It just happened to turn out extremely well.
I have to add that Stark gets better and better each time I have seen him.
And yes, Cyndi was in Vegas. Now that you^^ said it, I remembered that is what I had heard.

don't Cekala & Woerz alternate the role of Theo?? They're both listed in the Playbill as Theo.

I am SO glad to hear this. I love Sands...and when I saw the show in early previews, his voice was a mess. I've heard from multiple people that he was sick though, and has only gotten stronger with each performance. I can't wait to go back soon and see for myself.
Also, KINKY took no time at all getting those Tony signs up! (Found this on Instagram, by the way.)

They're both listed in the Playbill but, for one reason or another, Ashton hadn't been on before the Saturday matinee.

Yes the signs were up..I got a few pics myself.
But the prices went up too. I know there was a thread about this earlier but the last time I read the thread, the prices had not risen yet. (I might have missed a later post) But I noticed that the same tickets that I picked up at the box office today that I had paid for and reserved earlier cost I think $18 more today.
They were selling discount tickets for a long time after they opened..longer than I would thought...for 6 weeks after opening ans sails were going well already. I guess they will make up for it now.

I saw PIPPIN tonight. I bought the tickets months ago since I had a feeling it would win as much as it did. The audience was very excited and the cast was on fire. The show is just so good and tonights performance was electric. I would not have missed being there for anything. AND the cherry on top was that Mr. Ben Vereen was in the audience cheering alongside all the fans. GREAT NIGHT. I can imagine that KINKY BOOTS was just as amazing, but I could only be in one place at a time.
I too bought a ticket ages ago for PIPPIN tonight knowing it would be a big winner. In the front row tonight was Stephen Schwartz!

Ben Vereen in the Pippin audience? SO cool...the cast must have been thrilled.
