What is a tony award that you wish existed? For example I think it would be great to have an award for song of the season. Sometimes you get terrible scores with one amazing song that trumps most things from that season. And it would be cool to see what tony voters think the best song is!

Go easy on me here, it's just a suggestion and one that I don't even know how I feel about myself.
With the major network live televised musicals becoming so huge over the past two years... do you think there could ever be a special award for televised events? Considering the creative team & casts of these events are so heavily Broadway-influenced. Or are those televised events primarily recognized at television award ceremonies? Just a question.

I would say that even if it gets to the point where there is a sufficient amount of productions to make it a viable race they should stay under the auspices of the Emmys. It would be like if they started handing out Tonys for "Best Movie Musical."

There should definitely be a category to recognize the authors of straight plays.
I have never understood why there isn't a Best Play (author) and Best Production (for the actual play).
For example in 2011:
The Mother****er with the Hat - Best Play
War Horse - Best Production

I agree to the awards for best song, replacement and ensemble. If the ensemble award was in existence last year it would have gone to finding neverland for sticking with a crap show.

Best performance from a child, with scholarships for college/further education for all the nominees. the number of successful child actors to go on continue to have good careers in adulthood feels too low to me and something to encourage more of these kids to keep training and working would be good. This way 4/5 of them would receive the accolade every year instead of 1 every now and then.

After Bob Crowley and 59 Productions shared the nomination and eventual win this past year I'd be willing to bet that you'll start seeing similar joint nominations as opposed to a separate category.

Totally agree with tazber on this one. It's a little bit ridiculous when you think about it. They think that just because there's only one writer (as opposed to musicals which have book, music and lyrics), they can lump it in with the production as a whole. Using their logic, the Oscars wouldn't have an award for Best Screenplay, because "hey, we have an award for Best Picture and it's pretty much the same thing"
