If Percy Blakeney were in Les Mis....

Percy: Sink me! If it isn't Javvurt!
Javert: Zsah-vair, it's pronounced Zsah-vair.
Pecry: But it's spelled J-A-V-E-R-T Javvurt.
Javert: Repeat after me Zsah...Zsah....
Percy: Oh! Zsa-Zsa! Like the Gabor sister! Well I personally have always prefered Eva.
Javert: (Looks for gun)

ok, the music was written around this time but the musical was written in 93. It's:

Crazy For You

<--- the set of A Midsummer Night's Dream that I was assistant stage manager for during the 2007 season at the STNJ outdoor stage.

-Dre-
You must remember all the same that at the crux of every game is knowing when it's time to leave the table... And it's important to be artful in your exit. No turning back, you must accept the con is done... It was a ball, it was a blast. And it's a shame it couldn't last. But every chapter has to end, you must agree.
~Dirty Rotten Scoundrels~

There's a special kind of people known as show people. We live in a world full of dreams. Sometimes we're not too certain what's false and what's real. But we're seldom in doubt about what we feel.
~Curtains~

It is a far, far better thing I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest I go to, than I have ever known.

Ljay, we've discussed this before...again I'm not a tween, but please give more credit to some rent/wicked fans and at least if you're gonna post something like that I would greatly appreciate adding a brief(I know there are some fans of the shows who are very knowledgable about the past, etc) like you did in the other thread. As far as my own...hmm..

West Side Story first

The rest prob not in a particular order:

Chicago
Cabaret
My Fair Lady
Fiddler on the Roof
The King and I
Jesus Christ Superstar
Hair

These two balance each out:
Sound of Music-loved movie as a child so perhaps not best but not fav
Sweeney Todd-not particularly top 10 fav but understand the quality of it and maybe will appreciate it more after seeing it live

Also will add I don't know that much if any scores well enough pre-R&H to rank them here.

"If there was a Mount Rushmore for Broadway scores, "West Side Story" would be front and center. It snaps, it crackles it pops! It surges with a roar, its energy and sheer life undiminished by the years" - NYPost reviewer Elisabeth Vincentelli

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Well, if we're talking "scores" only, and not overall shows (which include the book), I would say...

Porgy and Bess
Show Boat
Oklahoma!
Brigadoon
Gypsy
Guys and Dolls
The Most Happy Fella
Sweeney Todd
The Music Man
West Side Story

(Not in any particular order. Jeez, that was tough.)
