Upcoming PBS 'Hamilton' Documentary Puts Us In the Room Where It Happens

No one thought it would be aired in its entirety.

Was at the PBS event yesterday that discussed the documentary, and it looks pretty great. Daveed was there to discuss his experience on the musical and clips were shown from their performance at the White House amongst other things. Looking forward to October.

No, Huss, not blaming you whatsoever! Upcoming PBS 'Hamilton' Documentary Puts Us In the Room Where It Happens I totally read an article somewhere else today that ruled out the possibility for the show to be broadcast this fall for those who thought it would be. I'm saying those people who thought it would be broadcast are crazy Upcoming PBS 'Hamilton' Documentary Puts Us In the Room Where It Happens

You don't know that it will be a "minimum of 5 years". All we know is that it was filmed and no one knows if or when it will be released.

Watched it with both my kids. Thought it was pretty terrific.

I watched it too and very much enjoyed it, especially the footage of the cast going to the real places these things happened and even their characters' graves. Even got a bit misty eyed when they played "Who Lives Who Dies.." over the shots of Lin and Phillipa at the graves!

Also loved seeing the collaboration between Lin and Lacamoire, I think that's probably something not many people know about.

My sole complaint (and seriously, it's only one!) is that I wish Eliza Hamilton got more screen time. The documentary was solidly half history, half production development, so I was really expecting at least more than a sentence or two about Eliza at the end, considering how much she did for Hamilton's history and legacy. That aside, I absolutely loved it.

It was overall great, but I was hoping for more footage of the show, even though I'm extremely grateful for what we got, but I could've used a little more Angelica. I'm very surprised that Satisfied wasn't featured as Lin has said multiple times that he thinks it is the best song in the show. Besides all that, it was excellent.

Question: could anyone tell the difference between what was filmed as original B-Roll and what was filmed as the entire performance? I just couldn't help noticing Betsy in most, if not all, of the production footage and I'm pretty sure that she wasn't in the show anymore when they filmed the entire performance.

I think Chris performing "One Last Time" and talking about Washington was probably the best part, IMHO.
